He never had any plans staying at LHW, it was simply a part of his campaign to win titles at four different weights, although he did fight as a light heavy against when he beat Virgil Hill.
Hearns did everything he said he would,He predicted he would win titles at 147,154,160,175 and even joked that he would move up to the croooooserweight division and win a title,And he did

It's where you KO a great fighter, then go on to fail in your boxing career.

Juan"The Hammer"Roldan was a real tough Hombre.. Hearns said he was the toughest fighter he ever fought, Roldan was `thumbed`by Hagler or it may well have been a different outcome to their fight, Thomas Hearns always fought the very best opposition there was to fight, Benitez, Cuevas, Duran, Roldan, Hagler, Kinchen, DeWitt, Leonard, Hill, Barkley, Olajide, Andries... Hearns was a fantastic fighter and never ducked anyone, he always looked to make the best fight unfortunately Hagler wanted nothing of a rematch against Hearns

Yep! I believe Tommy could beat Hagler. In that fight he broke his hand in the 1st round and that says a lot. He was also given a massage as we all know, which made his body spent. I can imagine Manny's reaction...he really let the masseur have it!

He lost 19 fights, so how can anybody rate him as a good fighter I don't know. He was a mediocre boxer with a good left hook. Or was it right? Nevermind. He was John Ruiz of the 80's and 90's!
You couldn't be more wrong, Iran Barkley had some underrated boxing skills. He was outboxing Roberto Duran in some rounds, just working behind the jab. I don't know how you can all him boring either, he was in a FOTY. One of the best 1st rounds ever, aswell as one of the most dramatic turn arounds in boxing history.

No matter if he won or lost. He brought excitement in all of his fights. Infact some would say he was unlucky to lose, close decisions against Michael Nunn, Roberto Duran. Records don't always tell the whole story, most of his losses come at the end of his career. And his losses in his prime. Were to top level fighters.

Lastly Thomas Hearns wasn't that past his prime, when he fought Iran Barkley in there 2nd meeting. He had just beat a prime undefeated Virgil Hill, in a great technical boxing match. Iran Barkley just had Thomas Hearns number end of.

Well he wasn't very exciting against Toney, I'll tell you that! And you are wrong, Hearns was past his prime in 1992. He had broken off with Steward also. That victory over Hill, which was a close fight, was his last swan song. He would go on to knock out some lesser fighters in the CW division, but we would never again see THE Tommy Hearns.
