The Benn that turned up for McLellan would destroy Froch I think, if Taylor put him down Benn would have him on his arse time and time again Taylor cant hit like Benn did im not saying he wouldnt have a hard fight tho and i could see froch goin down a few times but dont see him staying down im sure he would get up again, im still going with a 7round TKO for Benn i dont see Froch taking those big Benn shots all night and seeing his corner chuck the towel in

      Hi *****,

      Quote
'Really? When a guy like Jermain Taylor puts you down, a guy that hasn't knocked another fighter down since Raul Marquez in 2004, 1 weight division south of where you meet Jermain, you have to bring into question how "great" Froch's chin really is. Marquez might have been a tough guy, but he never had any business at Middleweight, nor is Taylor the same man he was when he beat Marquez.'

As someone pointed out Taylor did manage to knock down Pavlik heavily, who has a granite chin and no suprise that Winky, Hopkins and Lacy stayed uprite too. It was a good punch that put Froch down, I think it was the first knockdown of his career. I've followed him for a good few years now, he can absorb a frightening amount of punches to the chin, check out the Pascal fight. He barely blinked when absorbing some flush right hands from Robin Reid too. To be fair his open defense means he seems to get clipped hard in most fights. Honestly, that guys chin is something else!!

Carl Froch would get KO'ed by Nigel Benn. They are in a different class. Froch is one of the worst boxers i've ever seen, all he has is power and heart, of which Benn has too.

The Dark Destroyer lives up to his name and brutalizes the easy to hit Froch. I would also favor Chris Eubank, Herol Graham, and Steve Collins over Froch. Nigel's the best of the bunch though.

The lower weight classes tend to get short-shift so I'm making sure this one goes to the top by posting my response after I've hit the other threads.

                I'd add Michael Watson too.

Good call.....talk about the Golden Age of UK boxing. That's a bleedin' Murderer's Row there.

Absolutely! The 90s was a great time for British boxing! To be honest boxing in general....

i actually think eubank and watson would cruise to a UD and find froch very easy. i think herol graham and collins were also more well rounded fighters than froch and would be able to get the dec against froch.

benn is the one guy i can see froch having a chance against, benn was a fantastic fighter who came to fight. if the fight goes into the late rounds i see benn being in trouble and maybe even being stopped because of his chin and stamina issues.

but i think benn would end it before it got to that, benns speed and ferocity would mean that froch doesn't see the 6. froch has a great chin but has never faced a genuinely big puncher like kess, AA, benn.
