Very rarely were guys unable to beat a 10 count and the ref just refused to count to 10.
Well to be fair, the refs used to let fights go on a lot longer back then, but you're right, Vitali doesn't have the type of one punch concussive power of a Foreman or a Shavers.

I try not to call any professional boxer a bum, but I get what you're saying. Too much time wasted kickboxing, turned pro too late (26,) too long of a break in between (4 years) to have even near the resume that his 5 year younger brother has.

But there are lots of very good boxers with inflated records, especially punchers.

I'm sick and tired of this Lewis propaganda. The man got awarded the WBC belt TWICE and suddenly he's like a top 5 ATG!
yes but defending it Against all comers and bein at the top for as long as he was accounts for a lot, and the opposition at heavy hasnt got any more exciting since his era! if anything its got worse

A lot of Klit's fights seem to be just from breaking his opponents down, I have a strong feeling it's because they just don't move their heads and would rather eat his average right hand all night long. There is nothing spectacular about his right hand.

Not a huge fan of Lewis either, but had a rematch happened or in Lewis' prime I think it would have ended much worse.
Vitali`s punching power is only mediocre at best

And George Foreman's more impressive considering he has 68 of them, and could probably come in and knock out Valuev if he really tried. Sadly that's not a Foreman hype job on my part but just a statement about how piss poor I think Valuev is.

I remember somebody saying the same thing about Foreman on this forum a while back. That most of his wins were by TKO and that he wasn't really that big a puncher as everybody thinks. Just shows you how people can get different impressions. Doesn't mean they're right.

Ok, maybe Vitali isn't a one punch KO boxer, but men of his height are rarely that. Most of the biggest punchers in history were men who were rather of average height, like Shavers,Benn,Tua, Dempsey,Tyson...somebody even said Tyson wasn't a one punch ko artist. And it was a commentator in fact!

just sort of looked like Lewis wasn't bothered by Klitschkos punches.

Agreed. I'd say though that Lewis' chin was better than given credit for. How he took Vitali's right hand and managed to hang on was as impressive as Vitali taking Lewis' uppercut flush in my opinion.

Brutal, brutal punch. Probably the best right hand I've seen Vitali throw and Lewis took it.
