Louis is at least 50/50 vs any previous champion.
Ali had the style and speed to beat anyone but Louis was trip hammer quick with both fists and his power at the very top all time. Ali’s tendency to be open for left hook also leaves him open for Louis follow up combinations. So at any given time a Louis counter could push Ali onto dream street. I pick Ali in a tough close fight where he is rocked continually.
Holmes? Although he possessed a great jab, a great jab is not beating prime Louis. Holmes was always open for Louis best punch, a right cross over his dropped jab. That punch WILL land and the question is whether Holmes could survive the combination that follow. I doubt it. Holmes does well until he is caught. The bout is soon over.
You can’t sell short a fighter of Louis power, speed and ability to box and counterpunch.
