    Boxing in B&W

Just recently i'm starting to watch more B&W boxing matches. You know, all the old school fights. Their style is completely different from todays. Obviously, they have more technique today, but back then that ***** is fcukin brutal.

Boxing back when was still organized and profitable. They went rounds for days. When i watch the old tapes, i'm studying their style. If you notice, a lot of old school fighters were looking for that one punch.

SRR vs. Jake Lamotta VI is a good one. I dig SRR's style. Especially for the 1940s. Out of the B&W old school fighters i dig: SRR, LaMotta, Jack Dempsey, ALI (when he was Cassius Clay in the 60s) Louis was aiite and that other fellow... something with a B...Carmen "B" something.

Carmen Basilio. Angelo Dundee was his trainer.

Galento was a 250 pound tubby guy from back in the 40s who hit hard and was tough. Joe Louis actually LIFTED him off the canvas with a punch.

actually, it don't look like i'm familiar with Galletno. But if i watch Joe's fights, i'll probably run into it.

A few weeks ago i was on my SRR hype. Yo, he was really dope. I think he's up there as one of the greatest. I hella dig his fighting style.

A classic boxer who could also stand and slug it out. He was a good fella.

You're talkin about SRR yes? I don't know too much about his background outside of the ring and i'm slowly putting his career together. All i know is that he had over 100 fight and killed a man in the ring. Ever hear that?

I'm not really a Marciano fan per se, but Rocky vs. Jersey Joe Walcott is obviously a classic.

What do you guys think of Ezzard Charles?
