You really are stuck in the past. You are a sad case, Poet. Good luck in your life.
It's because you are saying he has a punchers chance. Shavers, Foreman and Liston all had a punchers chance, by giving Wlad a punchers chance you are pretty much saying he hits harder than those guys.

Wlad is a good puncher at best, he's not world class.

Well if this is true, given Foreman Liston and Shavers power, Vlad dosen't have a chance.

Foreman, Liston and Shavers didn't know how to fight if boxers took their best shots in the first few rounds. Foreman punched himself out, Liston quit and Shavers actually gutted out a decision, props to him. Wlad fights completely differently. Wlad is a ***** with no balls but given his style, peppering Ali with stiff jabs and setting him up to a big right hand is something that I can see happening. If you guys don't believe that a puncher ALWAYS has a chance, watch Antonio Diaz vs. Rocky Juarez or John David Jackson vs. Jorge Castro.

Jab and a right hand? lol Boxing prime Ali is the worst way to fight him.

Shavers landed big right hands throughout the 15 round distance against a diminished Muhammad Ali. He went onto say that he never hit anybody as hard and as often as he did Ali.

Ali was not invincible but a puncher's chance is not much of a chance against him. He had a very solid chin, recovered quickly and in his prime was hard to hit as well, not so much out of it.

Highlights of Ali-Shavers at around 5 minutes.

It's not that, I just don't put ATG fighters (or any fighter for that matter) on a pedestal and make them out to be invincible, unlike you people.

But what do we know? We're all OLD peeps and everyone knows people suddenly become ****** when they hit 30. 20 somethings know EVERYTHING: Just ask them!

Great post as always, Manchine. Thanks for your input but I can't watch videos on this computer I'm using. But I remember Shavers saying once that he hit Ali in the first round very hard and hurt him but didn't jump on him because Ali would play possum alot, do you think Earnie could've finished him or was Ali indeed playing possum?

I doubt he could have finished Ali. Shavers had him stunned but Ali went quickly on the defensive and Shavers may have run out of stamina had he gone for the KO early (as he usually did). That's what happened to Foreman and Liston.

My memories of the Liston, Foreman and Shavers fights are very fuzzy, to be honest and like I said, I can't watch videos on youtube. Did they go to the body at all against Ali?
