He is in his 40's now, proportionately, not very many fighters can even remain a factor in their division at that age, much less recapture their former glory. Many who still love the sport try and fail, and Tyson has said publically that he basically has no more love for fighting.

In addition, Tyson was heavily dependent on his speed as a fighter, speed which he has lost. Even his power was in part generated through his speed.
He was an exciting fighter, and like everyone else, I always hoped in his later fights that somehow he would magically transform into the Tyson of old and surprise everyone. I would say that unfortunately this just isn't a possibility anymore.

It's sad how he ended his career. Cus he's broke and in dept right he's gotta make money somehow, right?

Tyson traveled around the world and put on exhibitions sparring matches. People, boxers or not, would be able to go a couple rounds with the former champ. That's a tragic way to go. At least he knows he's completely done with the sport though.

That and *******, or whatever he was taking. I would always notice an older Mike fading as soon as he got hit. He never went down easy, but he always slowed down and seemingly would give up after he got hit. Thats the difference between him and a top tier ATG like Ali or Holmes, they would never give up even in old age.

The truth is, as I mentioned in another post, Mike would have been a natural as an expert analyst for HBO or Showtime. NO ONE could break down a fight and analyze it like Tyson and when you throw in his knowledge of boxing history and reverence for the sport he would have been a perfect fit. It won't happen now: He's radioactive and no one will touch him. The sad thing is it's his own damn fault because for all his respect for boxing he lacked basic respect for himself.

Mike knew his stuff but i think he'd suck! He is so unpredictable and can babble a bit!

I think Roy did a good job for HBO, Hatton and Hopkins are naturals for it IMO

              Not so much even that.

When he was champion (before and after prison), he was very intelligent, collective and well-mannered.

It was only when his money problems in the latter of his career surfaced, and he hyped up his bouts with crazy antics that media showcased him as an animal, and made their money from him.

Word. Hella people think he's ******, but i think he's hella smart. He'd be a better analyist than Lewis that's fer sho.

When Tyson got that Tatt on his face, i think it was a wrap by that time.

I can't remember, but some media bull***** was clownin on Mike's Tatts. How they don't even make sense. The Fiji Tatt on his face, Guevera on his stomach, and that Chinese Buddist? That's fcuked up. Just let Mike live. Feel me?
