He is in his 40's now, proportionately, not very many fighters can even remain a factor in their division at that age, much less recapture their former glory. Many who still love the sport try and fail, and Tyson has said publically that he basically has no more love for fighting.
In addition, Tyson was heavily dependent on his speed as a fighter, speed which he has lost. Even his power was in part generated through his speed.
He was an exciting fighter, and like everyone else, I always hoped in his later fights that somehow he would magically transform into the Tyson of old and surprise everyone. I would say that unfortunately this just isn't a possibility anymore.
