I'm inclined to say Ali for 2 reasons:

      1) No one stays on the ropes against George Foreman for 8 rounds without having a huge heart!

      2) He described the Thrilla in Manila as the closest thing to death

Although the others in with a big shout, especially Holyfield & Corrales for their epic Round 10s!

Impossible to answer. How do you measure if Arturo Gatti fighting with his eyes nearly shut and coming back to knock out Wilson Rodriguez means he has more heart than Matthew Saad Muhammad, who knocked out Marvin Johnson with a badly cut eye for the title in their rematch? Or Archie Moore coming back from 4 KDs to beat Yvon Durelle?

Tommy Morrison knocked out Joe Hipp with a broken jaw and broken hand. Henry Armstrong fought without a mouthpiece and swallowed a lot of blood in his win over Lou Ambers. Diego Corrales was someone I actually believed when he said he was willing to fight to the death. He seemed that crazy.

Don't think there's one head-and-shoulders above the rest, but the best I ever saw were Hearns, Gatti, Kevin Kelley, Ward, and Corrales...seeing him vs Castillo reminded me of Hagler's line on legendary nights "if you wanted to get me outta there you better hit me with that ring post..." Corrales embodied that possibly more than anyone ever had to.

I have to say the ward-gatti trilogy was amazing. Thoes two warriors most likely took alot of years off of each others lives in thoes three fights...

How about Rocky Balboa? That boy rose from the bottom rung, took punishment that would literally kill any other human being, endured the death of his beloved manager, suffered the trauma of having a brother-in-law like Paulie, had a son who seemed to change like a shapeshifter, had his young protege turn on him and practically beat him to death in the street, kept fighting till he was past 60, and still managed to become one of the greatest heavyweight champs the world has ever seen?

                      Definitely.

Did you see how he aged about 4 years from Rocky's plane ride home from Russia and went from a chubby brown-haired kid to a skinny black-haired one?
