Lol, don;t mention a fraud like Joe Calslappy and the great SRR in the same sentence please! Being overprotected and avoiding everyone would make it so easy for the all time p4p king. I doubt Mayweather would have comne out of retirement for this one as Margo is scary enough for him. SRR would have a field day knocking em all out in a round or 2. But like I said the way things go nowadays, nobody would fight him!

Ray Robinson did have some big flaws that you don't see in today's top fighters as much. His defense was shaky at times, he took big shot's and didn't have to. he also threw his hooks from his waist often times, and his elbow was not aligned properly (limits power). No boxer is flawless, but I can tell you that a Prime Bernard Hopkins had less flaws than SRR.

don't get me wrong, SRR is a great fighter, very modern for his time and would rip a lot of guys today apart just based on sheer toughness.

I say a Prime Roy Jones beats him, and quite handily. SRR didn't block his face enough, he'd get hit to much by Jones. Hopkins is just better all around, in his prime he threw a lot, contrary to what his recent viewers see and his defense is excellent.

Lamotta did not have great defense, Lamotta was not a big hitter, 30 some odd ko's in 80+ fights? that's not what I call a big hitter. Hagler is a similar fighter with greater handspeed, more power and toughness to match. Also overall a better boxer. Robinson lost to this Lamotta and had hard fought matches with him many times.

I see Robinson having great success at welterweight though, probably beating prime De la Hoya in a hard fought match, beating Margarito and Cotto...

Trinidad is a tough one for me, if he can land his left..which I'm sure he could..
Robinson had power to hurt Jones (several fighters throughout times do). So in short imo SRR's power>RJJ's chin. Roy was great is several aspects of the game but his chin was not one of them. Now if you was to say Ray would never hit Roy, I would respectfully have to disagree with you. Another thing you have to consider is Ray fought at MW past this prime. If you compare their careers Ray had a much more successful reign in a past prime foreign weight then Roy did. As for Mayweather, I see Mayweather's greatest flaw his inactivity becoming his downfall against SRR. We can't be sure if Ray could of knockedout/down the pretty boy because we haven't really seen him pushed. However I do believe in the assumption that Ray couldnt knock him out/down that Ray would win by decision. That being said it is my opinion, and much respect them_apples.

Saying he would knock them out within two rounds is a bit much . I can't see any man within the WW limit knocking out Margarito in two rounds.

He'd do great. In any era. So would Mayweather, Jones, Whitaker, Leonard, Duran... You get the drift

Great fighters are great. regardless of the number of rounds and glove size.

Unless we are talking about pre 3-minutes round boxing, which introduced HUGE differences, a great is a great is a great.

If you get skills, natural gifts, and a combination of dedication and balls, you got a champ.

Specifically, I dont see many giving him trouble today.

What people often overlook is Robinson won the MW title with 120 pro fights under his belt, so took cut a long story short, the depth of his game was in the lague of a Hopkins or Mayweather.

On top of that throw power, speed, chin in huge doses.

Some fighters could make it interesting today, but most of this 20 pro fights, started boxing at 18 crowd would be eaten up like babies.
