    - -The last finish fight under MQ rules that I know of
Was for the Colored Title held in 1909 Paris in a knock down, drag out classic featuring so many KDs that the reporters couldn't accurately keep track they were so overwhelmed.

Won by KO by Joe Jeannette over Sam McVea in the 49th rd, perhaps the greatest MQ fight never filmed.

As most will know, in 1933 Ernie Schaff tragically lost his life after being ko'd in the 13th round by Primo Carnera.

But in the nearly 50 years between that incident, and the death of Kim in 1982, only 3 fights that ended in a fatality, went past the 12th round:

1940 - Vic Caltaux ko 15 Stan Jenkins
1955 - Armstrong Janny ko 13 Casino Sawyer
1968 - Carlo Duran ko 15 Jupp Elze

And that's 3 deaths out of more than 300 during that period!

Mancini-Kim was on free prime time TV in the US, and brought forth the usual "Boxing should be banned" brigade. I think the shortening of championship fights from 15 to 12 rounds came about partly to dampen the critics - and partly (as has been previously mentioned) because a 12-rounder fits perfectly in a one.e-hour time slot.

Great job dispelling the 'rounds' theory. -- I wonder how much deliberate mismatches and faded fighters adds to that staggering figure: 300 deaths

There is always this question: would Leonard vs Hearns I had a different outcome if it had been a 12-rounder?

            Let's rephrase the question then:
would Leonard vs Hearns I had a different winner if it had been a 12-rounder?

Yes. Hearns was well ahead after round 12

At the time, I betted a lot of money for Hearns to win.
                I haven't betted since then.
Just wondering how Leonard's strategy had been if it was a 12-round fight.

Well, it's beddy-bye for me over here in Europe.

                  - -99.9 % been exposed to Corona and 95% remain asymptomatic in my parts.

U part of the new age immunized herd culture rioting, burning, looting in the streets spreading Corona and assorted misery and death?

Big pharma gonna create a sham vac to sell to the stampeding herds followed by cheap Asian counterfeits.

The instant economic depression and isolation created by the deep state gonna kill most of the herd using Corona as the means.
