Somehow Frazier ended up representing conservative, 'white' America although he didn't really have strong opinions on the subject.

Ali turned it into a race thing, he kept calling Frazier an Uncle Tom and that he was a white man's lackey, so a lot of black people were against Joe Frazier at that time, he received death threats etc.

DLH was never really accepted as a true Mexican, although some Mexicans may have made an exception for the Trinidad fight but I think there have been more hardcore Mexico vs Puerto Rico rivalries. Gomez vs Sanchez, Chavez vs Rosario etc.

louis represented america, and also the black race (but the black thing wasnt played up obviously)

It's true although Schmeling never agreed with the **** policies.

He saved two ***ish children from the ****'s and had a ***ish manager.
The ****s turned their back on him after he lost to Louis.

Schmeling still ended up having it better than Joe Louis.
