I look at it this way, if Leonard could give Duran a good fight fighting toe to toe, then it's very likely he could beat Duran by just boxing him. Whether Duran was weak or not, I still think he would lose in that type of fight with Leonard. Great boxers normally beat great punchers anyway.

I still feel like Duran just said to himself "**** this, i dont have to take this **** from some clown ive already beat".

I think Duran was being beaten and didnt like the way Leonad was mocking him. By quitting he made sure Leonard wouldnt get the credit for the win. It was Durans pride that wouldnt stand for such treatment.

Also, if it was just stomach cramps or an illness, why did Duran announce his retirement in the post fight interview? Surely he would demand a rematch.
It comes down to pride and humiliation.

Duran was not 100%. But Leonard still fought a great fight.

It dont matter, SRL made Duran look like a bum. SRL was ahead on the scorecards and Duran quit. plain and simple.....
