I alluded to that phenomenon above - Ali's stock goes up with the passage of time. This generation and those to follow will be responsible for Ali's increasing majority ranking as the top heavyweight, or at least ahead of Louis.

Given the greater picture however, I doubt that Ali will ever replace Sugar Ray Robinson as the overall (p4p) greatest fighter of all time. That honor may be reserved for someone whose parents have yet to meet.

- -Ali only recently ascended #1 heavy on IBRO 2020 updates, but Robby still a lock for #1 P4P as the original.

I’m a massive Duran fan but really when you think about it....almost entirely through the 80’s he lost to almost all P4P rivals.....hagler,hearns,Benitez and Leonard and had 3 major wins in leonard , Moore and Barkley so maybe Duran is slightly higher on the all time list than he should be.
Cuevas and palomino were on there way down also
