The public wanted the rematch. Duran couldn't easily drop the 50 lbs on the Leonard schedule that led to Duran inhaling 3 steak dinners after weighin that led him needing a dump in the middle of the rematch, all documented. The rubber would've been bigger thanc
so now your saying it’s Leonard’s fault because Duran showed no discipline as champion..I suppose Leonard held him down and force fed him those 2 meaty steaks as well lol.
No the public did not demand it...Duran was disowned by his people , by his government and by don king.
The public did not demand that fight and he only found real support after he smashed Dave Moore in 1983.
I know it’s Christmas but stop making up fairytales queenie lol

          - -Naw, U making up little porkies ain't me.

Duran is to blame, but it chaps tender Ray derrières to know Ray won a nothing bout of running after being dismissed with a wave of "I'm not fighting this (clown) to head to his dressing room to vacate the emergency.

To see Ray deliberately attack him from behind is a cowards foul and would've sparked an honest ref to properly declare the bout an NC.

At that point Duran could still make 147 for the rubber, but he entered his tubby wilderness years where he had to learn how to deal with bigger, stronger young bucks.

How many x did Ray retire to "protect his health?"

Half dozen? Well, blame it on his powders. His stink don't stink!!!

No major pro sport keeps 3 score cards in private like that. They have large updated play by play scoreboards accessible to fans with one score only, ie transparent.

Not cloaked in secret clusterfests where where the dolts often can't do the grade school numerical tallies and alter the results after the fact.

Officially Duran vs Hagler was close as I demonstrated. Unofficially people all over the map with most going Marv edged it.

What was your score? Marv wide?
Not wide; it was certainly competitive. I was more in line, watching years later of course, with a lot of the ringside press. 9 or 10 rounds to Hagler.

                  - -10 rds touching on wide.

I stopped scoring rds with commentary after figuring out the source of most every controversial fight.

Back to enjoying boxing with confidence, errr, sort of!

I don't think he gets that Hagler could Win 9 or 10 Rounds, which sounds wide, with the rounds being close to score but in Hagler's favor.

Right. I think Hagler fought a little tight against Duran but he was landing and working more. Very good chess match
