This is a tougher fight than Larry and Tim had

How did you guys have this fight? I thought that despite his inexperience, Tim really took it to the champ. Holmes showed great heart after being rocked in the 9th, however.

What ever happened to Tim after this fight? The tops of the heavies at this time basically became overshadowed by the middleweights, and later by Tyson.

The typical Don King shenanigans, which Tim mentioned in a book written about Don King years ago.

I think Tim could have actually took the fight. He had Holmes basically out on his feet in I think the ninth, and by the 15th round, Witherspoon actually looked like Holmes himself and Holmes was trying to catch him.

However, in all fairness to Holmes, Larry was past his prime by this time.

I don’t think Holmes was beyond his prime as he was only 3 years in to being champion and the year before was his best win against cooney.
Witherspoon was a good fighter and was a young lion who took it to Holmes and Holmes was lucky to win that fight.
Holmes was dam lucky against quite a few fighters and took heavy knockdowns against shavers and snipes that could quite easily have been stopped.
Witherspoon did win the world title so he did achieve something great
