I think for that fight just about everybody overestimated Tyson because they were so happy "he was back" that they were seeing what they wanted to see more than what was really there. And likewise everybody underestimated Holyfield and thought he was shot due to his being stopped by Bowe. I'd even go so far as to say the second Bowe loss was probably responsible for King making the fight. To tell you the truth, it pissed me off at the time because I thougt they were dodging the best competition and taking a shot fighter for his name.

Man, was I wrong....or they were.
I don;t think Tyson ever over looked Holy but I agree he probably thought Holy was a little shot. There is a great story about the olympic trials or something of the sort where Tyson was bullying people at a pool table . Well Holy was in the room watching this and finaly got fed up with it walked over grabed the que ball from Tyson and put him in his place right in front of everyone .
So I guess Holyfield would have always had the mental edge and this could be why Tyson has shown so much dislike for him over the years .

Here is where I'd like to ask, who were the best fighters that did not win a title in their career...

A name that comes to mind is Earnie Shavers....

Great fighter but never won the title...

I wouldn't say he was a great fighter, but he was certainly talented, and was one of, if not the hardest puncher in heavyweight in history.
