Chris Eubank Jr refused to face off with Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan at Thursday's press conference in London. The WBA interim world middleweight champion takes on Ireland's O'Sullivan (22-1-KO15) on December 12 at the O2 Arena as main support to Anthony Joshua's British title clash with Dillian Whyte. But as a lengthy social media war gets closer to turning physical live on Sky Sports, Eubank Jr (20-1-KO15) was in no mood to go head-to-head with O'Sullivan - citing his behaviour during face-offs in the past as his reason and telling the visitor: "You are a fake as you won't say stuff to my face. You are a keyboard warrior, Twitter terrorist."
It is looking increasingly likely that Matchroom Boxing’s final show of the year on December 12 at London’s O2 Arena will be pay-per-view. The bill which still has two, possibly three more key fights to be announced involving Kevin Mitchell, Luke Campbell and one other could be wrapped up very soon with a formal announcement expected this week one way or another.
Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan will use 'mind games' ahead of his WBA middleweight title eliminator against Chris Eubank Jr on December 12, according to trainer Paschal Collins. In 1995, Eubank Jr's father Chris Eubank famously surrendered his world title and his unbeaten record to Collins' brother Steve, who had claimed in the lead-up to the bout that he was undergoing hypnotherapy and would be immune to the champion's punches. Paschal Collins feels Eubank Jr could be vulnerable to similar psychological tactics from O'Sullivan whom he likens to MMA kingpin and fellow Irishman Conor McGregor.
Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch sat ringside on Saturday night at Sheffield Arena, and watched middleweight prospect Chris Eubank Jr. (20-1, 15KOs) demolish overmatched Tony Jeter in two rounds. Eubank's next bout is against Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan (22-1, 15KOs) on December 12th at the O2 Arena in London.
Chris Eubank Jr. blasted Tony Jeter away in less than four minutes on Saturday night. The Brighton middleweight had the American down in the first round but as soon as the second had started, he was on the offensive and unleashed vicious and accurate shots that set up a short and explosive success. Jeter had done well to recovering a first-round flattening but after just 29 seconds of the next, referee Howard Foster had little choice but to intervene as Eubank Jr set about him again.
The ludicrously monikered Tony ‘Mo’ Betta’ Jeter (159½lbs) may have come to the ring with a winning 20-4-1 (14) record, but three of his four losses have come by stoppage. It was clear that he was brought in to make Chris Eubank Junior (160lbs) look good as he bids to earn himself an eventual crack at middleweight Champion Gennady Golovkin.
Chris Eubank Jr has hit back at Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan by questioning whether the Irishman truly wants to fight him. The WBA interim middleweight champion makes his Sky Sports bow on Saturday when he faces America's Tony Jeter, but has already secured a clash with O'Sullivan (22-1-KO15), scheduled for December 12.
