Saturday night on DAZN, new IBF 147-pound champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis (31-0, 28 KOs) of Philadelphia stages a homecoming bout against veteran replacement opponent David Avanesyan (30-4-1, 18 KOs)

Ennis came in at 146.4 pounds and Avanesyan was 147 pounds, with both fighters looking forward to a great night tomorrow at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The 27-year-old Ennis (31-0, 28 KOs), from Philadelphia, is returning to the ring for the first time in a year since earning a 10th-round stoppage victory over Roiman Villa last July and is expected to light up his hometown against Avanesyan (30-4-1, 18 KOs).

Bernard Hackett, the father and trainer of Jalil Hackett, believes Pete Dobson is an ideal next opponent for his son.

Carl Greaves hadn’t seen David Avanesyan, 30-4-1 (18 KOs), since the former WBA welterweight champion recorded a routine win in Birmingham last December but, in June, the Armenian flew into England to finalise preparations for his fight with the IBF welterweight champion, Jaron Ennis, 31-0 (28 KOs).

The Spectrum closed on October 31, 2009. The final fight card at the Blue Horizon came on June 4, 2010. Jaron “Boots” Ennis was 12 years old when Philadelphia’s two most iconic boxing venues exited the game.
