Eithan James: record, next fight and profile →
WE LAST WEEK convened to formally reveal the latest of our highly-acclaimed ‘Magnificent Seven’ cards, which will take place at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham – formerly known as the NEC – on Saturday March 16.
British middleweight champion Nathan Heaney (18-0, 6 KOs), fresh from his stunning victory over Denzel Bentley to claim the title in November, will make his first defense of his Lonsdale belt, against the English champion Brad Pauls (18-1, 10).
MOSES ITAUMA racked up the fourth win of his career with a one-sided points win over Kevin Espindola in Telford. Itauma, 18, won 60-54 on the referee’s scorecard but it is now two fights in a row without a stoppage as he was unable to really hurt the Argentinean visitor at any point over these six rounds.
Once events have concluded in Telford, boxing fans will be eager to push the button and flick over to Las Vegas, where the T-Mobile Arena will stage the much-craved for superfight between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence on TNT Sports Box Office. A true welterweight king will be crowned.
Four titles will be on the line when Liam Davies and Jason Cunningham collide at the Telford International Centre on Saturday 29th July, live on TNT Sports, the new name for BT Sport from 18th July.
Anthony Yarde is locked in for his fight before the fight. The WBO light heavyweight mandatory challenger arrived at a chiseled 179.2 pounds for his scheduled ten-round bout with Stefani Koykov on a BT Sport/ESPN+ telecast Saturday evening from Telford International Centre in Telford, England. The visiting Koykov—a 30-year-old Bulgarian based out of Frankfurt, Germany—spread 176.7 pounds over his rock solid frame in hopes of upsetting his opponent’s future plans.
Jason Cunningham made a successful second defence of his European super-bantamweight title as he knocked down Terry Le Couviour three times with body punches before stopping him in the sixth round in Telford.
THE TELFORD INTERNATIONAL Arena will play host to European title action when Doncaster man Jason Cunningham makes a second defence of his EBU super bantamweight belt against the unbeaten Frenchman Terry Le Couviour on Saturday April 16, live on BT Sport.
Zach Parker may move in different worlds to Canelo Alvarez, but if Parker keeps winning, he could well bump into the Mexican in the ring one day, courtesy of his No 1 WBO ranking at super-middleweight.
Anthony Yarde’s first fight since losing to Lyndon Arthur last year lasted less than a round as he dropped Alex Theran twice before the Colombian was counted out in Birmingham.
