Eithan James: record, next fight and profile →
TALENTED SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT Eithan James has been carrying out his research with a view to placing himself in the title mix at Area level. The 20-year-old five-times National champion and Commonwealth Youth gold medallist moved himself to 5-0 as a pro last weekend with a convincing points victory over Clayton Bricknell at the Copper Box Arena.
Lennox Clarke became British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion with a stunning fifth-round stoppage of highly-touted Scottish prospect Willy Hutchinson at the Copper Box in London.
Josh Taylor is ready to take the next step on the path to crowning an undisputed junior welterweight king. The reigning unbeaten, unified titlist returns to the ring this weekend, where he will face mandatory challenger Apinun Khongsong. Both boxers made weight for their ESPN+ headliner, which airs live from York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, England (Saturday, ESPN+, 2:30 p.m. ET).
Ryan Garner made a winning return to the ring across the six-round distance. ‘The Piranha’, from Southampton, had suffered from dedication issues in the past and has been out of the ring for 14 months. But Garner, 22, seems to have finally got his act together as he came back against Jamie Quinn at Bethnal Green’s famous York Hall venue on Saturday night. The fight formed part of the build-up to the big heavyweight showdown between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.
Eithan James has had his next fight date confirmed. The 19-year-old is undefeated in two since turning over under Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions back in July and making his debut in September. James, an amateur sensation who won five national titles, a Commonwealth Youth Games gold medal as well as being a two-times Tri-Nations and Haringey Box Cup winner, is from Northampton.
AMATEUR SENSATION Eithan James is set to turn professional and will do so under Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions banner. The 18-year-old, winner of five National titles, gold medallist at the Commonwealth Youth Games and two-times Tri-Nations and Haringey Box Cup winner, from Northampton will be trained in Bromley by Alan Smith alongside fellow young talents Dennis McCann, Mickey Burke jr and Jake Pettitt.
