Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora will square off before the end of the year.
The heavyweight duo will meet in a rematch on December 22 at the O2 Arena in London, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK.
Whyte outpointed Chisora in their first fight back in December 2016 and the return has been a long time coming.
It was formally revealed at a press conference last week, with David Haye by the side of Chisora after the former British, Commonwealth and European champion recently signed a managerial and promotional deal with the Hayemaker Boxing outfit.
But one thing we’ve been short of information on up until now is what could potentially feature on the undercard of the show that is being billed ‘The Brawl To Settle It All’.
Eddie Hearn, the show’s promoter, revealed to Kugan Cassius of iFL TV his plans for the card in a recent interview.
“There is going to be a world title fight [on the card] which we have just agreed in writing and are just contracting,” he said. “It’s a good fight and you’ve seen this world champion in Britain before fighting a Brit.”
Boxing Scene understands that the world title fight that Hearn is referring to in the interview will involve Cristofer Rosales, the Nicaraguan WBC champion, defending his crown against former IBF title challenger Charlie Edwards.
Ryan Walsh looks set to defend his British featherweight title against Reece Bellotti on the card, though Hearn said that clash could land on a JDNXTGEN card earlier in the month.
Jake Ball’s WBA International light-heavyweight title clash against Craig Richards, which was canned for the recent show at the Copper Box Arena in London after the champion was forced out through injury, could be rescheduled for the undercard of Whyte vs. Chisora II and there is already understood to be action for David Price, the Liverpool heavyweight, with both David Allen and former Anthony Joshua foe Carlos Takam mentioned as potential opponents.
Further details will be revealed in due course.
