Promoter Dino Duva of Duva Boxing wishes to congratulate newly established world-class cruiserweight contender BJ "El Peligroso" Flores (21-0-1, 13 KOs) for his impressive 12-round victory over always-dangerous Darnell "Ding-a-Ling Man" Wilson (22-6-3, 19 KOs), last Friday.

Fighting in the main event of an ESPN2 "Friday Night Fights" broadcast from Wilson's backyard at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino in Dover, Delaware, Flores kept his focus under heavy fire to box his way to a controlled 12-round decision. Showing fast hands and canny defense, Flores stifled his heavy-handed foe for most of the exciting contest.

In the process, he annexed Wilson's USBA Championship and became the IBF's #2 contender.

"This was BJ Flores' coming out party," said Duva. "He rose to the occasion in spectacular fashion. When no one else would get in the ring with Darnell, BJ stepped up beat the most feared cruiserweight in the world."

Duva, who looks forward to taking over the promotional reins of Flores' career, along with partner Sal Musumeci of Final Forum, claims that Flores is a welcome addition to the 200-lb division's world stage. "He has quickly established himself as the top cruiserweight contender in the world and is a new fresh face, breath of fresh air. He showed he has the tools to become a superstar. Sal and I are devoted to helping him achieve that goal. The sky is the limit for BJ Flores."

Duva says now that Flores is near the front of the line for a title shot, the next goal will be securing a fight with their current champion Steve Cunningham. "BJ showed he is not to be counted out against anyone in the world. We're looking forward to negotiating a chance for him to fulfill his unlimited potential and take his first world championship in the near future."
