The most anticipated fight for the second half of 2015 is a clash between Miguel Cotto and Saul Alvarez, which is slated to happen most likely on either November 7th or the 21st. It would be another chapter in the heated rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico.

"We're close, we're very close,'' said the head of Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar De La Hoya. "It's a matter of crossing the t's and dotting the i's. We have a lot of people interested and we obviously want to go to the venue that makes the most sense for both fighters. It's a bit tricky when you're doing a co-promotion but both parties want to maximize the dollar but at the same time we want to make sure that both fighters are comfortable where they're fighting."

As for when the fight will take place in November, De La Hoya stated,''We haven't nailed down the date, yet. It gets a bit tricky with HBO's programming and you have Thanksgiving and we have to take into consideration that a certain venue has a certain date locked in. So we're trying to shuffle things around, move things around and do what's best for the event. So it's a little tricky but we're very close."

De La Hoya confirmed that the fight will,"definitely be in Las Vegas." The leading contenders are the MGM Grand and the Thomas and Mack Center. But De La Hoya gave the MGM Grand a very strong endorsement.

"The MGM is a hotel that has the arena built in and the MGM Grand, they've staged the biggest fights in the history of the sport and it's a place where 'Canelo' has fought and Cotto, so it's a perfect venue to stage this type of fight. So we just have to move a few things around and we'll have something in place in the couple of days."
