Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya says an all-Mexican battle between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is now an impossible fight to make - because Chavez has moved up by so many weight divisions in the last two years.

At one point the two boxers were only six-pounds apart, with Canelo fighting at junior middleweight and Chavez being a WBC champion at 160-pounds.  Chavez started struggling to make 160-pounds in early 2014 and soon made it known that he would start campaigning at super middleweight.

Chavez's upcoming fight is taking place at light heavyweight, when he returns on April 18th against Andrej Fonfara at a catch-weight of 172-pounds. Canelo is back on May 2nd against James Kirkland at 155-pounds.

Canelo, because of his smaller frame, is more than likely not going to move up beyond the middleweight limit.

"I would want it, but it would be impossible [to make]. They are at much different weights, different divisions. Julio is now going to fight at 175-pounds and that is already way too much for Saul, who is going to be fighting at 154-pounds," De La Hoya said to reporters in Mexico.
