Danny Garcia Eyes Move To 147 in The Near Future

By Bill "Two Scoops" Emes

WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16KOs) will soon invade the welterweight division. Last Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Garcia won a twelve round unanimous decision over Zab Judah. Garcia is probably going to have one more defense at 140 and then he wants to move up to challenge for welterweight gold.

Garcia captured the junior welterweight crown last year with a twelve round decision over Erik Morales. He followed up the win a few months later by winning a unification with a fourth round TKO of Amir Khan.

"I am getting bigger, I've been at 140 for a long time and I don't want to get to the point where I'm training just to lose weight and it's affecting my performances. So I probably have one more at the summer time it's going to be hot and I probably have to go up to 147," Garcia said.

This is why boxing sucks sometimes. The ****n guy is no 140 king. The guy fought ****n amir kahb. That was his biggest victory.but we all know kahn is a mediocre fighter. Mad heart and hand speed but no chin…

[QUOTE=bojangles1987;13305436]September might be too soon for the Peterson-Matthysse winner. They fight on June 29, right? That's three months, not even probably. Peterson-Matthysse will probably be a war, I don't want to see them have to turn around and fight too…

I would like him to fight the winner of Peterson vs Matthysse but if he gets offered a fight with Mayweather in September. Then he has to take advantage of that opportunity.
