This is the type of fight that always worries me about boxing judges. A fight where the popular fighter is fighting well, but still losing. These are the fights that judges love to **** up. They award some rounds they shouldn't in the middle because John keeps winning and if Juarez manages to win some late rounds because of poor early judging suddenly he's got 6-7 rounds.

B.) Juarez has proven himself more than capable of blowing it after any seemingly good performance.

John isn't nearly the biggest fraud. He might have a bit of a padded record and been somewhat protected; but the same can be said about plenty of fighters.
Juarez hasn't had a truly meaningful victory since.... forever?

I called that one. Happens so often it's ridiculous. Judges don't want to score a shutout or close to it, so they gift the fighter that is behind a round or two in the middle and then this happens.

Like I mentioned in the other thread; this is what judges do.
Judges don't like to have ridiculously lop-sided scorecards. In the middle rounds, if a fighter is behind any close rounds suddenly shift to the fighter that is down (especially if they're the crowd favor). Then if they come back in the late rounds suddenly their poor scoring makes it a draw or worse.
Judges suck. End of story.
This is a fight in which a MMA fan could say. " See, see see!!!. This is why boxing is dying!"
How could somebody say that? This is a fine fight. It's not "OMG LOOK AT ALL THE ACTION" exciting, but it's still a very solid fight.
John is a fraud in my eyes until he proves me wrong, beating Derrick Gainer and winning a highly disputed decision over Marquez won't do it.
That said, if he beats Juarez, I'll show him some respect. Though I'm not going overboard with it, it is Juarez afterall.
That's my problem. I'm not a fan of John... but what does beating Juarez prove? He should win. It might give him some recognition from the scrubs who don't know who he is; but Juarez is at best a stepping stone in the boxing world.
I agree with you on a fundamental level of John; but you're exaggerating (as is the case w/ 99.9% of opinions on this forum) how fraud-level.
There is no way to take a bias out of a human's eyes though. It is who YOU think won the round. 10 people all watch the same thing in the ring and you may get 10 different ideas about what happeaned.
Judges are human.
The point is to remove the human element. That is why there are rules on how judges are supposed to award rounds...
They aren't supposed to think: "Well who do I think won that round?" They're supposed to watch and examine and use the layout on proper judging and it should point to the right winner. There is human error and it's not gonna' be 100% accurate, but good judging isn't something that should be as hard as some of you mouth breathers make it out to be.
Fight judging is all in the eye of the beholder. Ignorent at home scoring usually involves people using punchstat numbers and shit that judges do not get.
It shouldn't be. That's the whole point. There is a defined way on how to judge a fight and judges should know it. It shouldn't be a matter of gut instincts or feeling on a round. It should be as objective as possible; which is where most people/judges fail.
