10,000 dollars and 90 day suspension.... lol thats not even a slap on the wrist. Toney wouldnt fight within 90 days anyway. 10,000 is nothing to a fighter earning millions dollars paycheck like toney.
No kidding--this puts boxing on par with big business for ridiculously stupid fine and penalties for wrongdoings. Reputation aside (and we all know how little that matters in boxing) how does this hurt Toney at all?
Chico would eat Morales up. He would walk through Morales's best shots and knock him out cold. Morales is not big enough, and not storng enough, plain and simple.
Which is exactly why--after the war last week--Corrales' people are trumpeting this fight. I wouldn't put my guy in anything resembleing a fight like that again for at least a year. Boxing's a business, after all.
Why? PBF's innate survival instincts, in the case of Tszyu. dlH's a different issue. At 147, this could be a really great fight--if Oscar can ever actually catch Floyd.
I agree that Hatton has little chance. That chin simply hasn't been tested by the likes of Tszyu's right.
I do believe, however, that the same argument bodes well for Gatti. There is no question he can take a punch. Gatti-Tszyu is the card I'm dreaming of. Tszyu would be pushed beyond a coupla rounds. As big a fan of Gatti's as I am though, I think Tszyu is simply too cool-headed to lose to anyone at 140 right now. He's a tactician as well as a fighter, and that's a pretty unbeatable combo.
No question Pacquiao's popularity is ascending, especially after the Barrera/Marquez double. Where I am (South Korea, land of K1), he's the only fighter (other than Ali) whose name the locals know!
Popularity aside, I think Morales is in for the fight of his life. How fans feel about you doesn't help you in the ring. Pac has all the real advantages of hunger, speed, and the power shot going for him.
I believe he will be a smart fighter and use his boxing skills.
I believe otherwise. Morales will go to brawl form in an effort to decisively do what his countrymen did not. I truly believe the mentality of Mexican boxers (a good thing, btw) will come into play in this fight.
Also, his granite chin will take anything Manny has to dish out.
Except that it's Pac's cumulative body shots that will stop Morales....maybe in 9, finally getting under with one big one to the liver.
