Promoters are all about exposure and money. Hennessey gave Froch exposure, but probably wanted more of the share than Hearn is happy with. Warren is the most prominent but also greediest of the bunch. Therefore Froch made the logical step to join Hearn.
**** you,arsehole
You don't seem the brightest since the only way you can state an opinion is swearing. That always shows weak personality and a lack of arguments. No professional boxer should be called a retard just because one likes the other fighter to win. Childish...

La Maquina has the attributes to win this fight. It’s not just his power and workrate, but his ring generalship and ability to take a punch that leaves no doubt of who comes out on top.
Garcia rather needs a slow pace to set up his tiiming/ left hook. Being pushed backwards by Judah, Garcia looked helpless and found no tool. Matthysse will pressure all night and won’t give Garcia much time to think. Ajose was hitting Lucas with a complete arsenal and wasn’t able to gain the Argentinian’s respect. Whether early or late, Garcia will fall!
Does anybody have a working stream? The one posted by Bierstadt doesn't show anything. Has the event started already? I guess it should be 9.30 pm in Krasnodar by now. Really appreciate any streams that work.
Have you been raised during WW2, old man. Still thinking in stereotypes makes you sound like a certain development of the world has past you. Talk boxing, man!
Finally some news of my favourite fighter. Also wished to see him fighting on ESPN Friday Night Fights. At least he is staying busy and after this mandatory he hopefully fights in the States in autumn this year. He needs to have more exposure in America. Want to see ihm fight a worthy opponent, maybe even a unification against Chavez jr./ Zbik or Golovkin.
And the thing is the ones that will dispute the title will be Danny Jacobs and Dmitry Pirog. I haven't heard of Pirog but I know Jacobs isn't one with the resume to be a title holder.
You should watch footage of Pirog at youtube. He is an outstanding boxer/ puncher. Has extremely sound defense and upper body movement. Brilliant footwork and a high workrate. As far as his opponents are concerned, they seem unknown to the casual fan, but the ones who take their time to study fighters can see that these mostly Russian opponents are really tough and tough to beat.
Jacobs has no resume, but remember that Martinez also didn't have a resume before he got HBO exposure, which just put him in the public eye.
So from my point of view the matchup Danny Jacobs and Dimitry Pirog is an excellent one.
I think that although the opinions differ in this comment section, it seems obvious that the sheer number of replies shows an interest in the fight. Some strong supporters don't want Martinez to fight against Pirog for one or the other reason, some say "make it happen".
Whatever the reply by DiBella is, sooner or later the two of them will fight eachother because the buzz has already started. In boxing one needs patience today to really have fights put together that we fans wish to see. Time will tell.
Pirog - Golovkin will be a sik fight no doubt, but Geale is a good shot at beating Sturm, he is a good fighter and will probably beat him but the judging could be an issue.
I know that styles make fights and fighter A beat B and therefore should win against fighter C is not always valid, but consider the ease with which Sturm disposed of Sylvester. Now this same Sylvester almost won/ barely lost a SD against Gaele. Geale is a soft punching windmill, considering Sturms tight defense and his jabbing all night, he will have no problems to win this easily.
Therefore, Golovkin vs Pirog is the only toss up here and way more exciting, considering the punching power of the two!
Gonna be the battle of two hype jobs. Which bum looks worse?
Seems you are inexperienced, a hater or probably need attention. Who is hyping Pirog? Actually Pirog is rather unknown to the mainstream boxing fan. Watch all his fights on youtube, not just the Jacobs fight and you'll see pure sweet science.
I have seen the interview and don't think that Pirog said exactly that. Seems to to promote a fight like this by boxingscene.com I think there is a lot of wishful thinking in here.
Anyway, if the fight with Gaele comes together, which I doubt, Pirog makes it an easy night of it. Gaele has no power whatsoever. Remember he won a SD against Sylvester who was tkoed easily yesterday night by Polish Proksa. Geale will never leave his Australian comfort zone to fight such a dangerous opponent to leave his title behind. He will defend his title forever in Down Under.
Imagine this fight would come off, Pirog would hold two titles and that's a statement. Afterwards there would be some eyebrows raised and a fight with Martinez truely could come off. Still it's only dreaming, that fight with Gaele is a fantasy of the author of this article.
Pirog is gonna raise eyebrows in the US. He's the most versatile and gifted fighter I have seen in years. Looking forward to seeing him fight in the summer.
Absolute props to Pirog for taking this tough fight against Golovkin. It's a shame Sturm gets away with this easy unification.
Anyway, Pirog vs Golovkin is a toss up and I'm thrilled to see both guys in the ring! This could turn out to be a classic!
Not that it might matter for the outcome of the fight, but Matthysse has 30 knockouts not 30 as the author stated. Even in his supposed losses Matthysse scored a knockdown respectively!
Let the Argentine finally fight for a real world title! Garcia should be next!
Peter Stark and Bierstad. Where are you from? You sound like villagers that never have been admitted to life in the 21st century.
A webaddreess that has been posted on boxingscene.com is fishy? Are you kidding? Secondly: What I don't know is fishy anyway? Man, just check boxrec.com tomorrow to not get caught with your extremely important private information on your profile.
What a joke! Sometimes I really wonder what people are around in boxing forums. ....If they want my Visa number...? Please don't enter a post, if you have nothing meaningful to say.
If the Pirog vs Jacobs fight happens, I'll be thrilled. Pirog is my favourite fighter, because he displays what the sweet science should be all about. Great skill set! He beat tough Russian guys that are not known to the casual fan, but luckily almost all his fights are on youtube. If the doubters will take some time, they will be surprised on what an amazing fighter Pirog is.
However, I think the fight against Jacobs is a toss up, because Jacobs has fast hands, legs and a gorgeous amateur background. Can't wait for July 31.
There was> John Keane (UK)... He scored 118/110 for Ward... Check BoxRec...
My fault...I was still pondering the Froch vs Kessler fight tonight. Didn't see you were refering the Ward fight.
Happy to hear a sign of life! Pirog is just so beautifully to watch. Love his skill level, although some say he lacks the power. For me this is just the sweet science.
A tune up fight in the US on ESPN and afterwards a fight against Quillin would be fair enough, since the WBO has treated Pirog rather as a stepchild. As a former champion of their organization, they should'nt hesitate to offer him a chance against Kid Chocolate. Quillin should also be happy not to have to fight against Martinez or Golovkin.

Look at that latest WBO ranking and tell me who do you want to fight Pirog and I tell you why it's not possible. The problem is that every coach will immediately see want unsolvable task is ahead would they send their fighter to challenge for Pirog's title.
Luckily Pirog is fighting Gaele. Hopefully afterwards their won't be any comments saying he is not deserving or anything. Nothing is confirmed, so I really hope that HBO sticks to that schedule.
The best Russian boxer at the moment, considering the complete package of ring intelligence, punching power and defense, is Dmitry Pirog. However, I doubt that the best middleweights are going to share the ring with him in the near future. Still I hope that he will hopefully be able to showcase his skills on American soil to give fight fans around the world some memorable fights in this worst year of boxing since long.
I can't see Lara winning this fight. Honestly, I was a bit surprised about Lara's latest statements about knocking Williams into a coma.Seems to be due to selling this fight, because Cubans gnerally don't boast like this. Don't think his power is tremendous enough to finish Williams. He was just running into a Hayemaker of Martinez. Williams doesn't have the best defense, but usually he's got a good chin and considering his workrate and I don't see Lara pulling this off.
Haye hasn't pulled out of fear. Who would miss a chance to fight in front of 60000+? Even when losing, this kind of pay day no one would give up voluntarily. That much is clear!
I wholeheartedly agree to what Haye was saying. No matter if he is able to deliver, but he estimated the fight in a correct manner. It was a boring snoozefest and Chagaev hasn't been the same since winning to Valuev in 2007. Haye has better chances, but I'm not convinced he will get past that boring range finder called a jab of Wlad's. I respect what Wlad has reached, but I want to see beautiful boxing and I want to call it sweet science and this definitely wasn't beautiful or exciting to watch. Having a Worldchampion this boring is really sad. I'm not a hater, but Wlad's awkaward stand and his obvious fear to get hit was way to apparent in htis fight. Peace.
Not that it might matter for the outcome of the fight, but Matthysse has 30 knockouts not 20 as the author stated. Even in his supposed losses Matthysse scored a knockdown respectively!
Let the Argentine finally fight for a real world title! Garcia or Rios should be next!
The average boxingfan doesn't know what happened to Pirog. Whether he pulled out because of an injury or not can't be estimated. As long as we don't know I only judge his qualities as a fighter that I've seen so far and these are superb. Ringintelligence and skill level are outstanding.
Can't understand the statement of Pirog, he will be in Moscow at the weekend. Does he fight or will he only be ringside? He had a history of a neck injury before the Maciel fight and this same injury seemed to be the cause for pulling out against Golovkin.
Hope we see this classy fighter soon again. Usually ABC crooks let former champs quickly climb in the rankings and fight again. Not so sure they will grant this to Pirog...
Like Pirog's calm attitude. He definitely fights in the US in his next fight, I'm sure it won't be Martinez since DiBella already named Lee as a possible and likely canditate for February.
Maybe after Pirog showcases his skills another time in the States, he will reach more recognition.
