"It was the sort of technical mastery of a proven opponent that we only see every so often, his equivalent of Floyd Mayweather-Diego Corrales"
I think that this comparison is too harsh. Gassiev deserved better treatment.
A bloody split nod loss in enemy country is as good as a win. We saw what happened to Carson jones and Manny. Hekkie gets road warrior points and should get a rematch... someplace else.
As I know there was no robbery. Budler was dropped. So I think that it is not similar to what happened with Manny and Carson Jones.
His last title reign was ****ing embarrassing, even by Warren's standards
I don't agree. It was OK. He was active and he agreed to fight Canelo. Yes, he made a lot of money but he knew that it was a very dangerous fight. He lost but his effort was brave enough to give credit to him.
Had Ward or mayweather been Fury most would be saying he won 117-113
No. These great boxers were throwning punches, maybe, not the hardest, but it was punches. And Fury was slapping, he was barely touching Parker.
I see some of the same hypocrites who said Canelo beat GGG and Lara beat Canelo talking about Fury "didn't do enough offensively." LOL... these hypocrites change the principles of scoring fights based on which cack they'd like to suck more :pat:
Fury didn't land as much as Lara. Erislandy may be dull but he has some power. Fury wasn't punching, he was trying to touch Parker.
Pascal has a lot of heart thats for sure.... Alvarez will get knocked out by Superman next!
Alvarez has a good chin. I don't think that is easy to knock him out.
Because I'm sure you're incredibly objective about the sport. :bukkake:
Seems a lot of posters scored it by what they wanted to see.
Of course Parker trying for home runs was more crowdpleasing, but did you REALLY see Hughie lose 10 rounds??
I think that it is possible to give Fury up to 4 rounds. Not because he won them, but because Parker lost them. What was the Fury's plan? To run? But you can't win by running for 12 rounds. He was barely touching Parker.
He Got stopped by Turkish Firat Arslan
Yes, but he significantly improved. His perfomance against Wlodarczyk was brilliant. And he is the only one who was able to stop Masternak.
worst decision i have ever seen in my life. Fury won virtually every round. Parker is nothing but a bum.who did not land more than 4-5 punches the whole fight.
"Location: UK"
Of course, of course
Tired to see zero knowledge about fighters from Europe. Shafikov, defence = C... What? He is a very skilled fighter. C for defense was given to Briedis? another skilled fighter, before his fight with Huck. Ha-ha ))) It is better to keep silent sometimes.
I want Dorticos to win so bad... I am Russian and in Russia many people really hate boxers promoted by World of Boxing )) I am definitely among them. I respect all these boxers but I don't want them to win. Forza, Yunier! Forza, Cuba!
"Sergey Kovalev – The former light heavyweight titleholder not only was stopped by Andre Ward in their rematch; most believe he quit. "
Biased opinion. It was a ridiculous stoppage. Kovalev was losing but as a former dominant champion he had a right to be given every chance to come back. This stoppage looked like a phantasmagoria.
"Although seeming to clearly win the majority of rounds, Commey would once again lose a split decision by scores of 116-112, 113-115 and 112-116."
What a biased opinion. Shafikov landed the best shots in this fight, Commey did nothing in the second half.
As always, I would love to see Lebedev lose.
I am Russian but I can say that many of my countrymen would love to see Lebedev lose. Honestly on this card I am against Lebedev, Malikov and Mikhaylenko. Especially I want Qudratillo Abduqaxorov to win.
Yeah, Wilder was rocked and given a real tough fight by Molina .. who was then crushed like an ant by AJ.
But such logics doesn't work when we speak about boxing. If boxer A beat boxer B and boxer B beat boxer C, there is still a chance that boxer C will beat boxer A. Styles make fights.
We don't know everything about Molina's conditions in both fights. Maybe in the first fight he wanted to give everything in the ring and in the second fight he just wanted to earn money.
Yes, I realize that Joshua looks better than Wilder but I can't say that Wilder has no chances against him. Deontay is smart and Anthony is not a superhuman.
Why is that?
Due to some political and cultural reasons. It is very hard to explain due to my limited knowledge of English.
But I can say that World of Boxing representatives tried to show themselves as white knights and at the same time they simply stole the WBA belt from Gassiev. Funny that they were advertising Lebedev-Gassiev fight as a fight for two belts - both WBA and IBF.
They talked some weird things without any proofs and they tried to mix boxing with politics which is considered to be a dirty move by myself and many of my countrymen.
... There, in Russia, they are teaching them that the use of PEDs is a "American conspiracy"...
There are stupid people in every country in the world. Unfortunately. Such conspiracy theorists are not respected by adequate Russians.
Takam is a no joke. Honestly I am sad that he lost to Povetkin. I am Russian but I think that Povetkin's victories over Charr, Takam, Perez, Wach and Duhaupas should be overturned to no-contest. Yes, there is no evidence that he was cheating but I don't believe that this victories were legit, Povetkin wasn't even close to his previous form when he fought Rudenko. So I think that it is very hard to stop Takam.
