I thought GGG won the Jacobs fight, but Jacobs did better than Canelo. Canelo lost like 7-8 rounds in a row; you can only really make an argument for him winning a couple of the early and a couple of the late rounds. He fought just enough to survive.
I think he's sturdy enough to last late-ish with GGG, but if he's getting his ass kicked and he's known to have stamina issues I can't really imagine him going the distance.
The judges are highly trained professionals and their opinion holds more weight than us simple boxing fans do
-pacfarts on marquez
Pacfarts, *******s, Floydidiots, May****, GTFO with these childish names. These forums should be age-restricted.
Pacquiao got a gift decision against Marquez, and he gets blatantly robbed against Bradley. I think the fix was in from the start, but they maybe thought it'd be a closer, uglier fight than it was.
Instead, Bradley just went into survival mode. He threw a lot of jabs and didn't land anything meaningful. Really the only punches I can remember him landing were jabs considering his 'power shots' didn't land clean whatsoever and had no power. Manny might as well have been sparring.
The same way Ortiz was not bothered by Peterson's power..Oh but wait he was..Ortiz has a weak mental state, touch Ortiz he becomes a different fighter..It makes me laugh to hear some posters thoughts on fighters,Ortiz beat and unproven Berto(Berto has done shhit in his career)besides that what has Ortiz accomplished to make you think he is even in Bradley's class??Alexander beats Ortiz, that's how lil I think of Ortiz...
Ortiz responded to Berto's power pretty well. IMO, Bradley can't hurt Ortiz but yes, there is a question about his mental state because he's a bit weird in that category. Still, if he has his head on straight, I don't see why that's an easy fight for Bradley. I didn't say he wouldn't win.
Can you imagine how much respect people would have for Bradley if he did that on the weekend?
Yeah, it would be crazy. I mean, he'd definitely be better off than he is now. The way I see it, Bradley will either get no rematch, or get it and be beaten and forgotten about. That's what he has to look forward to now, IMO. If he did that he'd be respected like crazy.
Nah, the hype behind Bradley wore off almost immediately last night. Not even the folks who predicted Bradley would win were impressed. It was just a mismatch; he's not elite.
He didn't have to say a thing. You could see it on his face. It was plain as day.
That **** was obvious. Joel Diaz was pleading with him just to stay in the fight. He was more trying to summon his will than giving him any strategy.
What's our opinion of Pacquiao if he beats Bradley convincingly?
So it seems like the majority of posters here think Bradley definitely will at least expose Pacquiao and probably 'win' the fight, despite probably losing on the scorecards. The reasons given for this being that Pacquiao has fought sub-par competition (either because they're past their prime, made to order, or at a catch-weight), might be slipping, has trouble with technical boxers, etc. and that Bradley is an undefeated and under-appreciated beast.
So the hypothetical question of this(posed mostly to those who think Bradley will win the fight): what will you think of Pacquiao if he actually beats Bradley convincingly? Either by KO or decision, if Pacquiao leaves no doubts as to who won, would that mean you were wrong about him, or does it simply mean you misjudged Bradley? I'm curious because I see most people acting like Bradley's definitely going to win this fight (I consider it a tossup, basically, with an edge to Pacquiao sort of dependent on which Pacquiao shows up) and I want to know what the reaction will be if Tim gets steamrolled.
Thoughts?
How Bradley is winning rounds on these guys' cards is ridiculous. All he did was paw the jab (almost always landing it on gloves), land an occasional quick combination to Pac's arms or gloves, or a verrrrry occasional body shot. He got dominated, period.
This is a disgrace...if this is how they think Bradley is gonna attack....Pac is getting his ass whooped...end of all the talk, they think Bradley is a joke...the joke is going to be on these dudes. :boxing:
Gonna have to agree with the above comment about this man. Don't read into a media day too much. If you do, you kind of have to laugh at Bradley talking about Marquez "just stepping back" to avoid punches. Brilliant stuff.
We will only really know how things will go when we see it go down. Bradley can look as amped and ripped and confident as he wants to in camp, and so can Pacquiao. Doesn't matter. How they react to each other when they're actually across from each other is what matters.
Pac gets nothing from me. This is just another low risk fight for Manny just like his last 6 or 7.
I guess if Bradley does win, your opinion of Tim is really going to soar!
who threw more punches Tim Bradley or Manny Pacquiao?
Pawing a jab all night and slapping it to Pacquiao's gloves probably didn't create much "pressure".
Your avatar is the best thing about this thread. <3 Takeshi.
Damn, I just changed it to this and I already have somebody recognize it? You have good taste. :boxing:
I agree, but I disagree with people saying Bradley was dominated..I really don't believe that is the case..I do believe Bradley clearly lost..I was sick listening to the commentators,oh god Jim pull Pac's cocck from you azz..Clear win for Pac,but not a dominate win for Pac imo..
Pacquiao dominated in the only rounds that Bradley had the will to fight. Pacquiao's not great at catching a runner, I think that's obvious. But winning by what should have been a very wide decision should be considered dominant.
At first I did blame Arum and big conspiracy, Horus is right although he yapped about nada, I rewatched it
Tim - 1-3, 6, 9-12
Manny - 4-5, 7
I gave the 8 a draw
The only rounds Manny won is when they traded punches, and lot of them punches was misses. He was very sloppy and the judges aren't being fooled anymore. The rounds Bradley boxed, he won. Manny claps his gloves together and sigh when fighters wont engage him and stick to boxing.
Only punch he landed cleanly was that straight left. How can you win a fight if you throw hardly any body punches? Bradley landed body and face shots, its a reason Manny gassed towards the end. When you have to push a fighter off you in the later rounds, you're tired. He even was countering Manny
Give Bradley credit :boxing:
lol you're crazy.
Ouch, my condolences. One day my friend.
Oh come on Mr. High Roller. You can be a fan of boxing and not want to spend money on the fights you want to see. You can be a fan of music and not want to spend all your money on music.
Wow, ****ing ridiculous. I thought Bradley was going to do well, but Pacquiao completely dominated him. I hope it's obvious to all - especially those who picked Bradley before the fight and thought it'd be easy for him - that he's not in the same league as Manny.
Wow, incredible. Can't even guess who gets robbed these days? This made Pac/JMM 3 look like a picture of fairness.
I didn't think his conditioning was 100% for this fight but I could be wrong. His stamina is usually one of his strong points, and I think there may be a conditioning aspect to his not giving it his all every second of every round.
I think we'll see wild punches in this fight from Bradley, regardless of whether they've worked on it in training camp or not. Tim's good at making adjustments here and there in fights but I've seen him get into those kinds of modes in probably every fight I've watched. You're telling me they thought it was a good idea for all previous fights, and now they decide it isn't? I don't see how, it's just messy and leaves him open regardless of the opponent. Some things you just can't change this late in a career.
I don't agree with the way Roach is portraying Bradley, but it could be part mind games on his part anyway. One thing I do think he's getting at is that he thinks the flaws of Bradley aren't going away, and whether it's in their gameplan to hide them or not, they'll show themselves come fight night. Basically, he thinks he's being more realistic about the changes that can be made to Bradley. "Once you get punched in the face..."
Dominated for a few rounds and then Bradley adapted and ouboxed Pacquiao even with 2 bad legs in the final rounds.
Jesus you people are crazy. Bradley couldn't adapt until Manny for some reason took his foot off the gas, period. Plus, you call pawing the jab "outboxing" someone and I have to question how much you know about boxing. Bradley won a couple of the very late rounds at most. Who gives a ****? Stop trying to make an excuse for Bob Arum's rigging games.
In my opinion he does. Maidana is a sick puncher and if catches you he can hurt you. I dont think Bradley has the power to keep him off. I just think Bradleys style, size, and suspect chin makes it difficult for him against Ortiz. Just my opinion our entitled to yours.
I don't think Bradley would have an easy time with Ortiz at all. Ortiz has great power and isn't going to be bothered by Bradley's power.
