How to stink out the house against a club fighter of all guys. Jones does not and never will have the "it" factor. "it" is simply not there. Overhyped. Amari Jones, so close in name to Omari Jones, has the 'it" factor. He doesn't FK aorund.
Excellent fighter and I really like how likable he is, but it takes the right opponent to make him more interesting. These guys he is expected to beat really don't make it exciting for me as a boxing fan. He needs to fight top fighters only.
bring in AJ to clean up the mess
Exactly! Two fighters with a total of 2 pro fights in Boxing clowned Boxing's elite in Fury and Usyk and now AJ will have to clean up the second mess left behind. Fury and Usyk are Fking idiot knuckleheads letting this happen to our sport.
"I showed it against an expierenced champion"
Well people say Barrios might be the worst Champion ever but this is bs it's the likes of Gualtieri that are taking these spots. How did that guy ver won a world title. I know he won a vacant won against a complete nobody and lost it right away in his next fight but still this guy should never become close to world title shot even in a weak middleweight era he was never even close to being top 15.
I agree. Gualtieri actually makes me appreciate Barrios as a former champion and that is a very hard thing to do.
The fact that they are selling this peice of SHT as a PPV is ridiculous! EVERY SINGLE ONE of the opponents from Usyk, Sheeraz, and Caterall are complete unkowns in Boxing! The only somewhat interesting fight is Torrez vs Sanchez. Pathetic!
Yeah, the thread is about WBC, but Usyk unified the most embarrassing defence: IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC. if he wasn't to release WBO, it would have been a perfect record, hard to achieve any soon, but even now it will stay untouched for decades. What makes it extremely bad is that if Rico wins, the belts will be announced vacant - so once, he is credible opponent to defend against, but on second thought, if he wins, his victory over a champion is not enough to title him such.
And to slightly deviate from the tangant, when Tyson Fury fought Francis Ngannou to a split decision, I remember thinking how UFC fans were going to rub it in the faces of Boxing fans that one of their fighters almost beat the top heavyweight and that to them meant that other UFC fighters could do the same. The ship was righted when Joshua took the gloating away from them with a crushing of Ngannou. And nothing against Ngannou, he just was doing what he had hoped to do to make big money. But Joshua fighting Jake was way overboard. Credit to Jake (sort of) for having a bravery level inversely proportional to his intellectual/emotional IQ, or sheer common sense.
But these circus acts have got to end. Or at the very least, be on even terms - such as a two-fight series where the Boxer fights the UFC guy in the ring, and then the UFC guy gets the Boxer in the cage. That way, the forgone conclusion will be each guy wins in his own wheelhouse. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander. At least that arrangement is more exciting that mudwrestling, lol. Going back to Mayweather, I remember after the Conner fight, he said he would fight in the cage. That never happened. But I digress a little, UFC fighters do more boxing in their wheelhouse than a Boxer who never kicks or wrestles, in the ring. Apologies to R.i.d.d.i.c.k Bowe who was actually kicked in the ring by some guy with an IQ slightly above that of a dead Frog.
This fight is wrong on so many levels it's not even funny anymore. A professional boxing champion fighting someone no one in boxing has ever heard of and is not ranked is making a mockery of the sport. A freak show that is denying the next available contender the spot they boxed their lives waiting for that should be happening this weekend and instead this farce is happening. It would take a champion losing all their money to justify this farce so that is the only thing I can conclude that Usyk is broke somehow.
This night only made me look forward to Foster vs Ford and Zayas vs Ennis even more. I'd rather see Abdullah Mason vs anyone than anything I saw last night.
Allen is a great personality and all, but as a heavyweight fighter, please make him go away. He clearly has no fitness game and is hanging around only for paydays. No televised fights of his like ever again please. Now we have to see if Phillip Hargrove has any success left against other fighters. Can't see Hargrove beating Itauma, that could be the nail in Hargrove's coffin.
Both Davis and Loma were in negotiations for a fight with each other and Loma pulled out. Now I would have been more OK with that had Loma came up with a legitimate excuse. But now what makes Loma's backing out look worse is how he is now considering a comeback. If Loma had said he wanted to take some time and come to the negotiation table with Davis in 30, 60, or 90 days, that woud have been fine. The old expression, sht or get off the pot.
I still question Phillip Hargroves chin but I'd consider it a huge upset if Hargrove wins as one is rising and the other is dropping down in their careers.
You need to get some business while on here speaking down about someone's health and have the nerve to mention the late Gary Russell Sr, would you be that disrespectful in front of any one of his son's, hell no because you would get that a_s tapped! Bye Bastard
His son's would already know his death could have been prevented - just like BoMac's still can. It takes intervention! I've seen what Diabetes can do to a number familiy members and it is serious as shit! To educate you, Type-2 Diabetes can be reversed if caught in time. I've helped people reverse it so don't come on here talking out your ass.
Cannot see the advantage for him coming back to fight. He was still really good 2 years ago, but his main advantages of movement and hitting in bunches from angles were not as sharp even then. I am sure it is useless to hope, but I hope cooler heads prevail and Loma stays inactive.
Muratalla, on the other hand, has a nice upside. I am interested in his next set of decisions.
Muratalla really shined in his last fight, more than even I thought he would. He was the epitome of a boxer-puncher, sharper than I had seen him ever. He could be the dominant force at 135. I want to see him, Schofield, and Mason tie up and go at it. Corey Marksman and William Zepeda could blend in as well from the outside looking in. Then you have Magsayo and Bahdi and Cruz out there. And the die-hard chin-checkers Sam Noakes and Rene Tellez Giron as well.
"To many he beat Haney"... unfortunately for you the JUDGES were not part of the "many" ... Rigo (Cuban) Walters (Jamaican) = ME NO BLACKA!!! hahahaha
With over 400 fights in his entire career he fought countless nationalities and colors and probably even a Cambodian Mexican with Japanese decent living in China at that rate.
The dude has too many screws loose. Wanting to fight and exhibition with a Lightweight and then wanting to fight a real fight with a Heavyweight contender. Fking knucklehead.
Kabayel earned his position. he is WBC interim champ. Either he gets usyk fight or Usyk gets stripped and kabayel is elevated to the champ.
No need to fight Itauma now. Kabayel is not ******.
Maybe, but things can change. It is one of my fantasy fights which may be just that, but they could still cross paths in the near future.
As to Usyk, really appreciated his skills and personality but I lost a lot of respect for hime doing a circus act for his next fight instead of the next top contender. No excuse; can't imagine he is so broke that he has to do a circus act.
I would never pick Itauma against the best until we see if he can take a huge punch or face adversity. He and Abel should go at it to see whose unbeaten record holds up.
