No, I think he was a necessary evil. BronzeBomber was a succesful derivative marketing gimmick for the business.
His title-length was notable, but not a record-setting. Never Undisputed or #1 in the world. Didn't contribute much to the art of boxing. Never beat anyone great from the past generation, or promising star.
He'll probably be HOF for the money he generated for the HW division.
Couldn’t someone consider his best win to be Wlad?
Old Wlad, but Fury was still the guy to end the reign.
Wlad was the best boxer Fury beat on paper, but it wasn't a great performance by either fighter. Just a one-sided slowburn.
Fury's performance in Wilder II was his best display.
Ultimately Wilder III was the best win of his career given that Wilder performed his best
So happy to see another skilled boxer with decent chin claim the BronzeBomber once again. Zhang actually made wilder look like an easy win. Best part was seeing him walk through all of Wilder's "knockout power" and just made BombSquad's right hand look soft. Deontay's typical clubbing and rabbit-punch wasn't effective either. Zhang was just too tough for Wilder to brawl with inside. Wilder had no choice but try his signature right hand a bunch, just to have that subdued.
I kind of hope Wilder's hubris continues and he complains about the weight disadvantage and generate new hype... so we can see someone else take away more of his mystique.
