I think its impossible to find your answer with these clues.
It was David Diaz. It was his weight I messed up on but i did say some things that were right:
Short black hair
Had black shorts and black gloves
Southpaw
Warrior with heart but got caught a lot
Would be around mid thirties now (he's 37)
Short and stocky
Mexican or American with latin blood in him
I think I know who you are talking about.
Did he fight a guy who threw a lot of jabs along with some right hands and hooks?
You forgot uppercuts sarcasticpat.
steven lueveno and david diaz where on alotta undercards but no where near middleweight
juan urango
cosmo rivera ?
none middlewieghts
Finally!!! sorry to the rest I was way off with his weight (for some reason i thought he was heavier).
It was David Diaz and the last fight of his I watched was against Soto (Diaz had black shorts and black gloves) and I remember being impressed by Soto (first time I ever saw Soto fight).
Thanks a lot revs, It has been annoying the hell out of me trying to remember him.
When i said undercard i meant main card but not main event level like say mayweather or danny garcia he was usually like the third/fourth fight before the main event (on big ppv cards).
He wasn't well known like someone like mayweather but he wasn't a jobber either.
He was a good fighter just a little reckless.
And you couldn't remember that beatdown Manny Pacquiao gave him??!?!
no lol I've seen Manny fight from his 2nd fight with Marquez (which looking at boxrec was his fight before Diaz) but i didn't see the Diaz and Manny fight. I don't know if it was on UK tv.
Looking at the pictures of all the fighters mentioned so far, none of them are him.
He wasn't dark skinned like most mexican/puerto rican fighters he was a similar color to Danny Garcia.
I ain't saying he's 100% Mexican/Puerto Rican, He may be American with some Latino blood in him.
I think out of the fights he lost, most of them were by decision.
Not too sure but I think he may have been a southpaw.
Stocky but not ripped (not fat either).
His hair was like Danny Garcia.
I remember him in black shorts and black gloves fighting some upcomer and swinging for the fences in the later rounds and losing by decision.
He would have fought on big PPV cards (not main event) because those are the cards i watch most.
And before anyone asks , no it isn't danny garcia lol.
If i had to guess his weight class it would be between Super Welter and Super Middle. He was short and stocky.
If i remembered his name you would deffinitely know who im talking about, to the average joe who dosen't really watch boxing then they wouldn't have heard of him but boxing fans would know him 100%.
I think his surname was foreign sounding (mexico/puerto rico or somewhere like that)
He was deffinitely thicker set than angulo.
He was well known to the commentators aswell.
I remember him fighting the most between 2005 - 2010
