there are two different thoughts:
1) if he comes back and loses, or only narrowly wins in unimpressive style then his legacy is tarnished
2) if he wins well then the uncertainty surrounding whether he would have lost to vitali the first time would be eclipsed, and he would be regarded the finest heavyweight of his generation.
on balance i reckon the first is more likely.
i agree with the posts re:entertainment value. I think only the hardcore fan is overtly interested in the skill level in a fight.
sounds like gatti is a real crowd pleaser. if so, he sounds like my kinda fighter.
thanks, i've heard a lot of hype surrounding him, and his 'classic' fights but i certainly need to see him for myself.
are any of his fights in the download section (when i get enough posts to get access to them)?
boxingtorrents.org seems to be down at the moment but i'll keep checking that. thanks.
i guess we Brits have to be glad we have access to the net. but i have to say my burgeoning passion for boxing certainly aint satisfied by three or four decent televised fights per year.
whether it happens or not. hatton really needs a big fight next and there are plenty of top class fighters in his division . but i think the tszyu fight would be huge money-spinner. maybe three or four million pounds, of which kostya would presumably get a larger slice.
if its at the MEN i'm there!!
any yeah for me hatton has a real shot.
well the MEN would be the ideal venue all round. yes it would favour ricky, and as the less experienced, and perhaps less gifted fighter such an advantage is probably needed.
but in terms of the money involved, the MEN would be an immediate 22,000 sell out. it always is for the big events. so this would sell out in a few hours. didn't Kostya's last fight against Mitchell get a mere 5000 attendance?
