GGG won the WBC interim title back in 2014 (vs Rubio) and was mandatory since then! He waited 2 years and both Cotto and Canelo knew MONTHS before even their fight that the winner will HAVE TO FACE GGG next.

Canelo did right by dropping the Belt when he fights and beats GGG what else will people like you say? Let's face it like it or not Canelo is the one bringing in more money than GGG. Canelo gave in to the stipulations Mayweather gave him including money and weight GGG has to understand that even though he "may" be the better fighter it's not him bringing in the same amount of money Canelo does and as such he should come to terms that he will not be getting the lions share of the pot. So if Canelo wants to drop the belt and later fight GGG for it or not then that's his choice. So long as he fights GGG he will prove that what he has said is not just B.S.

I don't think Canelo gave up the belt to duck GGG....correct me if I am wrong but since when has any sanctioning body made a current World Champion from a different organization in the same weight class their mandatory challenger? As far as I know most if not all sanctioning bodies drop a fighter in their ratings once that champion is crowned by any other of the Major alphabet Organizations....WBC made GGG the mandatory and pushed that fight because they know it's a big money fight and they will Be collecting some serious money in sanctioning fees. To me they are not doing it to better the sport but to line their pockets from this fight too.
