I was wondering if this thread was serious or not but by the looks you guys might really believe this given the UK connection that you all have with DeGale. Ward destroys Degale in the past, present or future. These two are in completely different leagues and the one Ward is in just so happens to be elite.
Are you guys being sarcastic or idiots? Sometimes it's hard to tell here. Ward easily beats Degale for the next 5 years and maybe longer than that. Two completely levels of fighter.
Well since Mayweather - Ortiz did 1.25 I'll say that Floyd is responsible for at least 1.25 of the 1.5. Until Canelo sells 1 ppv I can't give him much credit for these #s. Now Cotto is a big draw but I would think most people would choose to watch Mayweather over Miguel. For an example if Cotto and Floyd were fighting the same guy and you had to choose between which fight to buy I believe 90 % would choose to watch Mayweather.
Yeh..80% of not very much is better than 50% of likely the highest grossing fight of all time. Jesus wept. :nonono:
You too obviously don't know much either. SMH 80% of not much. When was the last time a Floyd fight generated not very much. It's funny how everyone talked sh** about Floyd demanding 100 million to fight Manny (even though he said he never demanded that) but when the fight is not being made they say he is passing on a $100 million payday. You guys are funny.
Absolutely not. Cotto doesn't have enough experience fighting southpaw, if any experience. Trying to make that drastic of a change would get his ass beat badly.
Outselling?? With Mosley they where about the same in PPV buys, but with Marquez, Floyd only generated around 1.2mill PPV and Manny generated around 1.6mill... Not always with Floyd...
pac and jmm did 1.45 not 1.6
Some of these threads are hilarious I swear. Avoiding Manny to move up to Middleweight? This fight has not made much progress in 3 years. Middleweight is another legacy builder. If Floyd is able to conquer the Middleweight champion it would be great for his legacy. And for the people arguing how much money Floyd would lose by fighting Sergio rather than Manny might not understand percentages that well. Floyd vs Sergio at Middleweight for the Middleweight title is a HUGE fight. It isn't as big as Floyd vs Manny but it is HUGE also. Fighting Sergio, Floyd would take close to 80% of the pot and fight Manny is would not take much more than 50% of the pot. The Manny fight would generate more revenue but 80% of the pot from Sergio would be close to the 50% from the Manny fight.
With that being said it is a much tougher fight for Floyd fighting Sergio.
How did you guys score Mayweather vs Cotto? Cause I scored it for Cotto. When I saw it live (HBO) I didnt score it but I felt Cotto won and the HBO commentary was biased and retarded and disgraceful. Now I just finished watching the British BoxNation Broadcast and the commentary was an absolute disgrace, the commentators should be fired, they were acting as if Mayweather was outclassing Cotto the whole fight. They all want to hype the Pacquiao-Floyd fight, that's why they are all acting as if Mayweather was winning the fight.
I scored the fight the 2nd time I watched it and I had Cotto winning 6 rounds to 4 with 2 rounds even. I scored the 5th and the 11th round a draw but as I said, I had Cotto winning. No bullsh*t, no Floyd hate, I just scored it the way I saw it. How did you score it?
Here is my scorecard:
Round 1: 10 - 9 Mayweather
Round 2: 9 - 10 Cotto
Round 3: 9 - 10 Cotto
Round 4: 10 - 9 Mayweather
Round 5: 10 - 10 Draw
Round 6: 9 - 10 Cotto
Round 7: 10 - 9 Mayweather
Round 8: 9 - 10 Cotto
Round 9: 9 - 10 Cotto
Round 10: 9 - 10 Cotto
Round 11: 10 - 10 Draw
Round 12: 10 - 9 Mayweather
----------------------------------------------------------------
Final Score: 114:116 Cotto
No way did Mayweather win this fight. NO WAY. A lot of rounds were close, and a lot of punches were blocked on both sides, but overall Cotto was outworking Floyd, showing good offence, landing good body punches and nice jabs. Floyd landed some decent shots from the outside, but only a few in the whole fight. Cotto blocked most of his punches or made him miss. HBO punch stats: forget it. Just a bunch of biased ridiculous crap.
Cotto won, sorry guys, but that's how I saw it. And when you look at Floyd in between the rounds, you could see he was confused as hell. And when he pulled that stunt after the fight when he interrupted the Steward-Lampley fight conclusion, I knew Floyd knows he lost.
Idiot no offense lol
I can honestly say NOBODY I watched the fight with were remotely interested in the under card at all. I even watched the fight with Puerto Ricans and Mexicans. We watched the Mavs vs OKC for most of the under card and then ate enchiladas and drank during the Canelo and Mosley fight. Everyone was there for one reason and that was to watch Mayweather.
How do you figure money wise...last I checked Manny wanted 50/50!!! Martinez said he would do 80/20...So how in the h3ll is Floyd getting 100 mil? He can make more money fighting Sergio with 80/20 then Pac with 50/50....May vs Pac might sell more PPV's but if have to split down the middle its 50 mil a piece...
Don't even waste your time trying to explain common sense to these dumbas*es. 80/20 50/50 is too complicated for these idiots to understand.
I'm losing respect for Cotto. If this is true he will look like a crybaby little b**ch !!!! Miguel needs to watch the fight ASAP and talk to the media. If he thinks he won this fight then Margarito's plaster did FAR more damage than I previously thought. Man up Miguel, up put up a great effort, you just lost to a better boxer and you will be champion again. I don't get it, he has nothing to be ashamed about. Did he expect to get knocked out? and being that he didn't he should have be declared the winner?
A lot of people are almost guaranteeing that a Floyd - Pac fight breaks the Oscar - Floyd records. I think it will come close but as big as Floyd and Pac are, I still believe Oscar is a much bigger draw than both Floyd and Pac.
Cotto is not fast but he does have good timing
This is how I feel. Cotto has very good timing. When I think of Cotto quick is one of the last things I think of.
Miguel Cotto's Post Fight Thoughts
Does anybody have any quotes from Cotto since the fight has ended? I am curious to hear how he feels about the fight result. I understand if he is disappointed that he lost the fight and is reluctant to speak to the media but Cotto fought his heart out and put on a good show, he just lost to the better man and there is no shame in that. I hope he doesn't feel like he was robbed and he should be proud of the show him and Mayweather put on. Cotto is a warrior and will be champ again.
I really dont understand Floydiot logic, so this really made no sense to me.
No, you are just a dumb*ss and don't understand any logic or you just don't have common sense. Most Pac fans are missing one of the two if not both.
Yep, Gayfeather never trains hard or gets serious. Just plays slap and tickle with the Money Team.
Im a Floyd fan so that Gayweather sh** is all your saying but I'm not too much of a fan to get fed up and annoyed with the fake ass "Money Mayweather" persona. That checking the scores sh** was lame. Yes Floyd too trains VERY hard but it's not interesting anymore it's the same exact routine every time they show Floyd train. And yes I'm getting sick of seeing 50 cent all the damn time. These two are kissing each others ass way too much for me. 50 is almost as bad as Leonard.
OK let's go by your logic, let's just say that a Floyd/Manny fight will easily generate a 2.5mil PPV buys, and let's say at 60bucks a piece, that's around 150mill, excluding sponsorships deals.. So in PPV alone, even at 50/50 split, each fighter will get 75mill easily....
While with a Floyd/Sergio fight, PPV buys utmost will only go up to 1.2mill and i am being generous here, so at 60bucks that will go around 72mill in total... So at 80-20 split Floyd will only get around 57.6mill for his share.... And this is a riskier fight to take, and for the Manny fight PPV price sales can go up to 65-75 bucks per buy....
Now you gauge which ones better money wise....
I think you are selling a Mayweather - Martinez fight a little short. This would be Mayweather taking on the biggest challenge of his career for the Middleweight tittle. If this fight did less than 1.4 then they did a VERY poor job promoting this fight. I think 2.5 is doable for a Floyd - Manny fight but a little on the high end 2.3 is what I'm predicting. My math is 67.2 million at 80% Sergio and 69 million at 50% for Manny. Not much of a difference in ppv revenue.
Everything about this faceoff was lame. Floyd and the checking scores bullsh** was garbage. For once I think Cotto will be the star of 24/7. Floyd's whole story will be him and 50 cent sniffing eachother's butt and the same exact training routine as the other 24/7s, while Cotto will be serious and training hard.
That's Mannymath their using....
ha ha MannyMath, that math would get you nowhere in life. The only people that you MannyMath is his fans and himself. Bob Arum sure isn't using.
This would be the perfect song for Floyd to come out to. They Burn Me by 50 cent (I don't know how to post video and could use some help).
