MSG is the last place Margarito should be on the 13th.
A crowd of angry Nuyorican boxing fans and Antonio Margarito don't mix.
He better keep his cheatin ass in Mexico.
I wish HBO would televise it.
Mad Boricuas are gonna be tuning in to see Cotto, so it would make since to show Iron Boy on the undercard.
He deserves some TV time.
I'm sure Juan has fought above 135 before and for what it's worth Andre Berto started his career at middleweight .. big deal
uncharted territory or not, there's a heck of a difference in going up to weight to take on nobodies vs fighting shall we say, "upper level fighters"
and as far as where Juan Diaz made his recognition as a top fighter, it was obviously at lightweight. did he fight anyone of note at WW?
I'm just saying, Paul Williams has been as high as 169 before (not just for the B-Hop fight)
but you have to look at more then the weight, and ask "who have these fighters fought at the higher weights?"
cuz yeah Juan or Berto may have fought at higher weight classes .. but was it in vs solid opposition, to give a fair test of how they'd fair at the highter weight (147 for Diaz and 160 for Berto)?
Hold your horses, buddy.
I think you're getting the wrong idea.
I'm not saying that Diaz is gonna beat Malignaggi at 140 lbs.
Actually, I think there's a good chance that Paulie outboxes
Diaz. I was just showing that Diaz is capable of fighting at
that weight. I was under the impression that you thought
the match was gonna be made at 135 lbs.
^ pretty sure I heard an interview where Malignaggi said he'd fight at 135 if he could make the weight.
strange match up
either Diaz goes to 140 .. or Paulie goes down
IMO more likely Diaz going up.
I believe Diaz started his career at WW, so the weight increase wouldn't be uncharted territory for him.
It's kinda surprising though, because Diaz already looks soft at 135.
