i live in sheffield and that is naz. ironically he is stood outside his gym on abbeydale road. there have been many sightings of him recently and everyone says he is massive
Naz bought a place in south sheffield, on abbeydale road about 5yrs ago and turned it into his own gym. it is a white building with no writing on the front or anything.
Where do you think he trained ater he left brendan ingle ?
p.s. i live about 1 mile away from the famous st thomas' gym where brendan ingle still trains loads of young tearaways from the local area - he's an amazing old fella !
He also seems to neglect to mention that RJJ started as a middleweight, fought at supermiddle and lightheavy before moving up to outbox heavyweight ruiz. not many fighters have won legitimate world titles at 4 weights. When spinks moved up to heavy it was much more natural for him and he didnt look that small as a heavy where as RJJ loooked like a dwarf. the only points i agree with are that RJJ hasnt fought many top fighters. Did he avoid the best through his carear or were there not that many great fighters around in his era ? probably a bit of both. certainly at lightheavy there were no real big names.
nice aticle. tyson had nothing to beat tyson with ? what about his left hook or his right uppercut? tyson was one of the hardest hitting boxers of all time. even a light puncher like ali knocked out foreman so i have no doubt that tyson could have knocked foreman out. this isnt to say i dont believe the article, nothing about tyson suprises me.
its disgusting that hes even allowed a license to box. He has been irreversibly damaged from boxing. you just have to hear him speak to know that he should not be boxing. same with holyfield.
difficult to argue against sugar ray robinson but henry armstrong had an awesome record. Ali also in the top 3 for me as well. for my top 5 i would add in roberto duran and roy jones
i'd be amazed if hopkins fought bazooka. hopkins wants super fights, not someone who has fought once in 5 yrs. it sounds like hopkins will move up to fight glen johnson or fight j taylor.
skelton has done very well in such a short space of time, and he comes from a kickboxing background. i dont think he is much worse than the current crop of terrible heavyweight champions and contenders. i dont think he would look out of place with rachman, golota, brewster etc he is supposed to be fighting williams next and he has a good chance of winning this fight
i cant wait to see froch start fighting in america. he definately has the potential to be a good world champion. i just hope his carear doesnt go the same way calzages has. bum after meeningless bum
takkie and phillips were past their best. witter fought judah at short notice and has beaten all the top european fighters and is now stepping to top world fighters. first man to put ndou down. cotto couldnt even do that. i believe that witter deserves a world title shot ahead of hatton. i hope hatton beats tszyu and i will be there cheering him on. however, if he gets hammered its because he's prepared by fighting weak, washed up hasbeens and this could be rickys downfall. lets hope not but i'll have no sympathy for him.
i agree. i dont think hatton wants anything to do with witter. i hope hatton does win his shot against tszyu but i cant help feeling that he has been protected through his carear and has been very lucky to have had loads of hype from sky sports and frank warren. he has had it far too easy with choice of opposition and never having to fight outside england
i like hatton but i feel that witter would beat him, but it would be close and i would love to see it. the main problem i have with hatton is the fact that he claims to be a world champion, just because he holds the WBU belt. i hate the fact that there are so many worthless titles about and because hatton is a big draw and has a large fan base, suddenly everyone starts believing the hype. there are loads of fighters with IBO, IBA, WBF etc world titles but nobody actually calls them world champs or believes they are. Jonny Nelson once held the WBF world heavyweight title but nobody would ever seriously say hes a former heavyweight world cahmp !! if hatton beats tszyu i will be happy for him and it will be great for british boxing
he still needs to fight zoo for the big pay day. thats my point. hatton wants the big super fight with the big pay day, but he doesnt or warren wont let him take any risky fights. however, due t zoos age and injury problems i think hatton has a good chance of winning
i agree. winky has a great chance of beating tito and i expect him to win by UD. the only worry is that tito is a DK fighter and they have an uncanny nack of winning close decisions, just like tito did against de la hoya
who cares if hattons belt is on the line, its fuckin worthless. i could buy a better belt on ebay. hatton has avoided witter so as not to jeopadise a 'genuine' world title shot with a big pay day. however, he want the title shot without fighting any good top 10 fighters and without fighting away from home. i just dont think its that fair, especially when you have the media whipping up loads of publicity and hyping him up to be a lot better than he may be.
he must really need the money. however, he still has a big punch and with the state of todays heavyweight division he could quite easily win a world title
