Vivian is a talented guy, he was just crushed by the pressure of his "big fight" (in terms of exposure, not quality of opposition).
The one round where he pumped the jab and followed Manny's advice he dominated.
He got what he deserved in this bout for ignoring his corner and fighting exactly the wrong fight for the opponent in front of him, but if he uses it as a growing experience he can still make some noise in the future.
It could turn out to be a blessing in disguise if it makes him more open to the advice of his corner.
All that said, I'm a big fan of Gollum now.
I can't remember the last time such an unorthadox, wide-punching, terrible-balance, ugly dude beat a quality fighter.
I need to hunt up a copy of the Resto fight.
I'm on the Maussa bandwagon!
Floyd is way more fundamentally sound than Roy ever was.
Roy has more sheer physical ability, but Floyd's physical talents all seem directed at boxing (the handspeed and uncanny coordination). I can see Roy succeeding at whatever sport he tried. Floyd just seems like a fighter.
Floyd's fundamentals will allow him a longer prime than Roy...when his reflexes slip, he has a solid foundation to fall back on.
