I was always a casual boxing fan, watching the big heavyweight fights, the dela hoya fights until I saw a lightweight named Shane Mosley. I don't remember who he was fighting, but when I saw him, I was like "who is this guy? How come I never heard of him before? Why isn't he being hyped like dela hoya, quartey, etc".The guy had crazy Bruce Lee like speed, power, and a fighter's spirit that only brawling club fighting level boxers had. I really started getting into Boxing since watching Mosley fight back in `96. I always said if he ever got a chance at DLH, he'd kick his ass and when there was nobody else to beat up at LW, and Stevie Johnston turned down a fight with his amateur rival, Mosley went up to 147 and made me proud on 6/17/00. That was the best night of my boxing life. My emotions were so high that night.
I think Zab has a good chance at 147 at this point. I think Zab is more mature at this point and is more focused on what he needs to do. Tszyu is old, but the way he blew Mitchell out, and Zab's shaky chin, I give him a good shot. Actually, I see him knocking Zab out again. The only thing I worry about is Tszyu eating all those punches. His defense isn't the best, and when he gets hit, it looks very bad. But he takes the punches, and knocks the other guys out, so he handles his business.
The way I see it, Zab still has that KO in the back of his head. He knows Tszyu can hurt him, so I think he'd try to box Tszyu from the distance, do a little running, and every once in awhile jump in with hard shots, then start running again. In the end though, I just don't see Zab in the ring with Tszyu for 12 rounds without getting caught and having his lights turned out. Tszyu by late stoppage.
If Morales loses, like I expect he will, I don't think he'll do any of that stuff he did with Barrera, or Bobby Boy. He had personal beef with Barrera, and he always hated Bobby Boy for talking shit about Tijuana.
Morales respects Pacquiao and vice versa. I'm really looking forward to this one. It's guaranteed to be a classic. But I feel at this point, Pacquiao has the edge. He's on a high note after knocking out Barrera, and beating up Marquez. Morales is on the downslide and he's been slipping for awhile now. Moving up in weight has made his power more ineffective, he's getting hit a lot and hurt, and he's brawling a lot when he doesn't need to. Morales is very talented athletically, and has good boxing skills that he always throws out the window when he gets tagged hard. He's a fighter at heart, and this I believe will be the reason for his demise against Pacman. I just believe Pacquiao is on the uprise and is going to get better, while Morales has been on the slope, and slipping in every fight. But you never know! I know Pacquiao has been knocked out but that was like at 112-116 or something. Let's see if he can take Morales' punch.
