This boxing diehard will buy
Fernando Guerrero and Shawn Porter are beasts as I have watched them on ESPN twice and saw Guerrero on Showtime last fall. Dominic Wade had a great amateur background and is a huge puncher as well. Dominic Wade's knockout on youtube.com is a knockout of the year candidate. Sounds like a great card to watch. I will be buying it for $5 for sure.
Ishe is completely fake calling up Nick Charles the week of the fight. Why did he wait so long to call up Nick Charles as he has been battling cancer for a significant amount of time. Ishe waits until the week of the fight to call up Nick? Seems kind of like a political strategy to me and it worked by getting the Showtime announcers to clearly favor Ishe throughout the fight. Further, why doesn't anyone talk about his trainer (Eddie Mustapha Muhammad) stating between rounds "keep going behind the barn door" which in boxing terms is keep hitting Guerrero with low blows when the referee is not in view. Also, the over 40 low blows was nothing more than Ishe trying to cheat his way to a victory. Seems like Ishe is more fit for acting or politics than boxing.
Ishe is nothing more than a wanna be superstar that will never win at the next level. When he cites sparring with Floyd, Zab and Chad Dawson it just shows his insecurities that he wants to be someone that he clearly is not. Hard to have respect for someone that wears his religion on his sleeve, fights dirty fights, and is always full of excuses when he loses. Guerrero completely outworked Ishe in the fight. Part of Ishe's problem is that he has a sparring partner mentality.
A competent referee would have DQ'd Ishe by the 4th round of his fight with Guerrero due to his deliberate low blows and by pushing the referee twice in the same fight. By the way, Ishe fought dirty against Danny Jacobs in that fight last August and lost a point for hitting Jacobs behind the head after the bell. Hopefully, this is the last we ever have to see of the sore loser and dirty fighter, Ishe Smith. Nobody wants to hear from a guy that always has excuses.
