But Mayweather does have strength in his punches, but which I mean, when he lands, he will rock Pac's head back. And he will be able to knock and push Pac around the ring when he lands. I'm sure that would make a difference.
It's not about the strength of his punches, it's his timing. The amount of time he catches people coming in is incredible.
Having i said that, floyd aint going to be pushing Pac around.
I don't know how anybody can be so definitive about a winner in this fight, i dont think either fighter has faced anyone like each other. I think Pac's going to surprise Floyd with his angles, and his change in levels, he's also got a solid right hand which makes him dangerous. On the other side, Pac's never fought anyone like Floyd, he's not going to rush him, and pac's going to be countered. He's also going to be frustrated because he's going to miss more than ever.
If i were to pick a winner, i can actually see a TKO for Floyd in 8 - 10. He's going to frustrate Pac and he's going to catch him with a clean shot coming in.
That's what I am saying. It just depends on how Floyd copes with Pac's style.
If he can't avoid Pacquiao's punches, he will get owned. And if Pacquiao can't touch him or hurt him, then Pacquiao will lose a decision that alot of people will probably hate.
stating the obvious really?
I think it's more to do with how Pac copes with Floyd. I can just see Pac getting frustrated and getting reckless.. Pac leaves himself wide open often, and he's never fought anyone with the precision and timing of may
After watching the fight last night, do you still think that floyd has the power to stop Pac? Manny can take the punches from much bigger opponents, i dont think Floyd can stop him.
Floyd definitely has the power to stop Pac.
It's not just about power, it's about timing and accuracy. If pac rushes in, and Floyd catches him with a clean shot (which will happen), it could easily be over.
Same with Pac. Accuracy, footwork, stamina, chin, speed and power.
If Pac do rush in, do you really think Floyd has the power to trouble Pac's chin? Be honest now.
Margo weight 17 pounds heavier and didn't took Pac down with the uppercut.
Cotto couldn't really knockdown pack despite being a precise puncher with power.
:boxing:
man, i don't think you can compare Cotto with May..
They're on different planets, and completely different fighters. Margo was heavier, but he hurt Pac with that body shot, and his jab was pushing him back. Besides, as i said, it's not all down to power, Floyd can time shots better than anyone, and Pac's defense was terrible at times...
He's going to get caught.. and i think May could knock him out.
And yeah, i agree with you about Pac, May's never fought anyone like him either, the angles, the movement, the change in levels, and more than anything the balance. Watch pac, he can actually land a clean precise shot whilst moving, he doesnt actually need to set himself.
All i'm saying is that peeps are under-rating May on here.
I know Pacquiao is the peoples champion and he was just magnificent against another very good opponent. But PBF is just a different kettle of fish.
Pacman's blueprint to be beaten is the Eric Morales 1 or either of the Marquez battles. PBF's blueprint to be beaten is in the Castillo 1 fight and just by observation PBF is closer to Marquez style of fighting than Pacman is to Castillo's style of fighting. Pac is smaller than PBF, PBF is faster and hits harder than Marquez and is better defensively than Marquez.
My problem is that the fight depends on styles, I'm still trying to figure out how Pacman is going to beat PBF. Simply saying power or speed is not conclusive enough. I'd say its Pacman pressure vs Floyd counter punching.
I think the key to the fight is AGE. Has Floyd aged to the point that his reflexes have slowed enough for Pacman to catch him? Imagine if that was Pacman that wobbled him in round 2 instead of Mosley?
Can Pacman at this advanced age of 32 continue his high work-rate and pressure to break through that defense? Remember its easy to look fast against a guy like Margarito, even still he looked alot faster and less sloppy vs DLH 2 years ago.
Ahh the options are unlimited.
I completely agree.
Also, i really don't think you can look at Pac's past 6 fights. He's fought against basically mirrored opponents who just gave him what he wanted. Since Diaz, he's fought flat footed fighters who had limited lateral movement. He's just been able to pick these fighters apart.
I'm not trying to diminish what he's achieved, but as you said, Floyd's a different game. He's not going to rush Manny, tactically, it's completely different to his past 6 fights.
Lastly, all i'll say is that could potentially be a **** boring fight.
Who Money just dominated for 12 rounds, can someone fill me in on why I should care about Pacman beating a guy thats as slow as a turtle?
what a sh*t thread.
Manny knocked out Hatton in 2, it took PBF 10, does that count for anything?
I hate when people say, just because x beat y, and y beat z, x is going to beat z.. it doesn't mean ****e.
Everybody knows its easier to knock out a guy 2nd time around, Hatton was damaged goods.
P.S. When is the last time fought anyone with true Boxing Skill?
Oh ya against JMM, which he lost twice.
Mayweather Via Murder
I like floyd, i actually think may is going to win the fight.
But you're reasoning for why he's gonna win is ridiculous.
Everyone pac has fought has skills, they just dont have the speed and movement of Floyd. Is that what you mean?
Respect to Margarito man.. tough muther.
Why does this surprise anyone? Roach hand picked margarito for this fight, he even said he was picked because he had slow hand and poor lateral movement. The result didn't surprise me one bit.
