I would definitely like to see that fight. Both of them coming off of major upsets would make a great story. I would think Lopez would pick a less known less experienced fighter for their first venture at 140. If they didn’t get Mikey out early I would see him picking Lopez apart as the fight went on. Did you see Garcia’s fight with Vargas? Mikey looked way undersized and was getting hit with some power in the first few rounds. But he just maintained his composure and plan and took over after the fifth. I see something similar happening with Lopez. Lopez would definitely need a better game plan than he had tonight! Jesus! He and his entire team looked like a shit show.
I’ll give Joyce points on being durable and having a really effective stiff jab. I’m just not sure that’s enough to get past AJ. I think AJ would find a way to get around that and he has power in both hands, throws fast tight punches, and I think would find Joyce a lot more often than Dubois did. Maybe I’m underestimating Joyce’s skill and timing because his hand speed looks incredibly slow to me. I just don’t see how Joshua doesn’t put him in danger early, which he should do because you don’t want to let Joyce jab you to death for twelve rounds.
Ummmm...no. Take a guy coming up like Babic for example. Does anyone really think that Babic wouldn’t put him down in about 1 min of the first round? Tyson couldn’t begin to keep up with that work rate. I respect Tyson and I thought he looked great for his age but I just don’t think he can hang with these young guys.
No way Usyk could have taken the punishment Parker was dishing out.
Any other heavy would have hit the canvas!
Maybe, but if Parker is going to keep his head on the line like he did tonight you can bet Usyk is going to find it.
Hernandez is tough or Mati has a power problem. I think it’s the latter. If you get bothered by a tomato can like Hernandez rushing in on you what’s going to happen when someone with some ability to hurt you does that?
