It's funny to see people on here debating whether Khan quit. I give the utmost respect to anyone lacing up the gloves, but it's clear he quit. He didn't get hit in the privates, he got hit on the upper leg as clearly seen in the replays.
People underestimate boxers like Spence and Crawford because they don't get these dramatic one punch knockouts, but the way they systematically break you down seems even worse in a way. The body blows Crawford was hitting Khan with were devastating. I don't blame Khan for quitting, but he should be real about it.
I love to hear this! This makes me think he is getting back to basics. If Spence and Crawford is really up next if Spence wins, hopefully we see the best version of both guys and let the best man win.
Lol. He beats Ennis, then people say, well Ennis was a hype job. How about he beats someone proven. Which was Spence, who beat Garcia and Ugas post wreck. But he wasn't the same, so now Bud needs to beat Ortiz. But he isn't proven and plus he has health issues. So Bud should move up and beat Canelo. But he wins, and we all know Canelo is past his prime.
No matter who he beats, there will be an excuse for someone to belittle the win. Hilarious.
Totally correct. You can always win the argument if you change the goal posts everytime. It's crazy the mental gymnastics needed to not give Crawford his due respect.
I think the "not take the foot off the gas" comment about the Canelo fight is because of his history of getting questionable decisions. If your opponent starts off with 2 or 3 rounds in their pocket, you had better pitch a shutout to leave no room for the robbery.
I keep hearing people talk about Crawford's resume. The difference between Crawford and Canelo is that Canelo is a huge draw and brings big money to the table. There is an incentive for other promoters to risk their best fighters against him.
As much as I like Crawford as a fighter, what leverage does he have to force a fight with any Spence, Danny Garcia or any of the other Haymon fighters? They have plenty of options to make the same money fighting in house.
You guys on here are funny! You act like you have never seen a Crawford fight before. He has always been a slow starter. He works his way into the fight and slowly figures out what works and what doesn't. Once he does that, then he hits the gas.
Shawn Porter is a tough, durable and smart boxer. He's more technical than people give him credit for. He's not an easy out for anybody and any boxing fan should know that. With Porter's style, he is going to get his shots in. He got his shots in against Spense too. The question in this fight was always could Porter hurt Bud. Once it was clear that he couldn't, it was looked to me like it was just a matter of time before Bud stepped it up.
Hopefully, we get Spence-Crawford next, so we can stop seeing the nonstop chatter in the forums about who's ducking who. They are both champs, so let's see them get it on.
Maybe because you have 9 fights with no notable wins.
Almost any pro boxer who’s at least decent, starts their career tearing through journeymen and no hopers by TKO or at least very wide UD’s.
Morrell is doing absolutely nothing special at all. He needs to stay busy and stop pretending to be the best thing since sliced bread.
And how does he get notable wins if the big names refuse to fight him? All he can do is beat the people that are willing to fight him.
Did you just lump Loma in with those other three clowns? You must have watched a completely different fight last night then.
I hear you. I think Loma has arguably a better resume than the others overall. However, at 135, it's obvious he didn't want to fight Haney or else him and his team wouldn't have pushed for the franchise belt. Now, it's a business and I can respect that, so maybe Loma's team saw Haney as a high risk/low reward type situation. But he did avoid that mandatory, no question about that.
It's great to see two contenders at 135 actually fight each other rather than talking about fighting on Twitter. I hope this is the first step to really figuring out who is the best at 135.
Hopefully, the winner fights the winner of the Haney/Lomo fight. You can't really claim to be the best when there is an undisputed champion in your weight class who you refuse to fight.
So Jacobs basically saying he’s fighting a cherry
I guess you can look at it that way. I see it more like he is saying I want to ***** you up for real for all the trash you've been talking, but I'll catch a case if I do it outside the ring. You aren't good enough to fight on merit, but I just want to smash you, forget the boxing side of things.
Why doesn't Boots fight Stanionis? Now that Ortiz is out for the time being, it would be a good win for him against a top opponent and a way to raise his profile for a fight with Crawford.
I'm not sure how anyone can argue against Crawford being #1 P4P. Crawford just went undisputed in his second weight class and demolished a guy with a 75% KO rate without breaking a sweat.
All respect to Inoue, but he beat a guy that he could pressure at will because Fulton has no power. Inoue is a hell of a fighter, but how is this even a conversation?
Funny how the man who made Crawford rich and gave him guaranteed money is the “racist” and the black promoter is the one trying to F*** him…..words from Crawford’s own mouth
Life is funny like that. If crawford has any dignity he will drop that petty lawsuit and focus on his “bruthas” trying to leech him
I dislike the subtle disrespectful undertone with the 'bruthas' comment, but your point is well made. Bad business can be done by promoters of all races.
The only counterpoint I would make about Arum is how many times have you seen a promoter give an interview and trash their own fighter like Arum did with Crawford?
Revisionist history will always happen here, but it’s so sweet when you just soak it all in.
I feel you. It's always funny to see how what excuses people will come up with on why the win wasn't impressive.
People are on here talking about his eyes weren't healed from a loss that happened 3 years ago. It's funny really.
Look I admit I'm a Bud fan, but I'm like everyone else and want to see him in with the best. Hopefully, we can see that happen now. Brook isn't his best right now, but he has been fighting super welters for his last three fights and has never been dominated like that. Most people had Crawford wearing him down over a long fight, but no one predicting a fourth round ko like that. People need to give the man his credit while still hoping he has a chance to fight Spence or the other top welters.
Devin you need to stop talking out of your ass and actually fight a top 10 guy, you ain't no true CHAMPION, how can you be a true CHAMPION when you didn't beat no one take that belt from them like a true CHAMPION does, they gave you the belt and called you a fake ass CHAMPION!!!FACTS are FACTS!!!
I know you probably don't really care about the facts, but you do know he was mandatory and calling for a fight with Lomo, before Lomo sidestepped him with the franchise thing. He's also actively trying to get a fight with Lopez now that he has the belts.
How can he magically fight these champions if they won't get in the ring? If he's such a pushover and the email champ, why won't any of the champs get in the ring and shut him up? I thought that was were the beefs were settled in boxing, not in boxing forums or Twitter.
Look I'm not saying Haney is the best. I like all the young fighters in and around that weight class. I'm a boxing fan. I want the fighters to get in the ring and find out how who the best is.
Unfortunately Jermall wasn't ready and PBC chose Jermell for Canelo. Pity they didn't wait until after the Crawford Spence fight.
Crawfords next fight should be a big one and the obvious fight is Jermell. Who knows maybe he'll bash up Canelo and the Crawford fight becomes a monster. Or he gets KOs and Crawford misses out.
I guess my biggest problem with the Canelo situation is that neither Charlo brother should have gotten the Canelo fight in the first place. Canelo should be fighting Benavidez.
Sure...take the bonus money for diving in the first round and live the dream!
Man, I don't know how you guys like boxing, but hate the guys putting their life on the line doing it. That man was 38 trying to get his final chance at a championship fight. Do you honestly think he dived? Maybe he just got hit with a punch he didn't anticipate by one of the hardest hitting heavyweights...
Great fight yesterday. No losers in that fight.
If boxing made sense nowadays, we would get Crawford-Porter next and continue to see who is the true #1 at 147. That way, Spence could fight Danny Garcia and Manny with the Crawford-Porter winner at the end as the undisputed title fight.
But we know that won't happen, unfortunately.
Would Morrell beat the tar out of Canelo Alvarez?
If Canelo would fight him, we might actually find out the answer to that question. Do you think it will happen?
Gamboa Is Easy to drop, was much More shorter, was shot and was tagging Crawford with so many shots.
You aré not exceptional after you face some elite rival in prime.
How was Gambia shot when he fought Crawford? Gamboa was undefeated when he fought Bud... Don't let facts stop your hate though. Gamboa was shorter sure, but shorter fighters when all the time or else Viktor Postol or John Molina would be undefeated champions.
Man, I read some of the comments here and wonder how this can be actual boxing fans writing this. Haney is a undefeated champion at 23 who wants to fight everyone at the top echelon in his division. Normally, people blast people for cherry picking, but somehow people talk bad about him because he wants the big fights?
Obviously, pro fighters like Loma, Tank, Garcia and Teo see something that some of these posters do not or they would jump in the ring with him quick and take that belt from him. Obviously, at this point, he is not a knockout artist like Tank. However, with his length and speed, he's not an easy fight for any of those guys.
People saw that super middleweight Canelo couldn`t compete with top light heavy Bivol.
People saw that top jr. middleweight Charlo couldn`t compete with top super middleweight Canelo.
But for some reason some morons believe that top welterweight Crawford can compete with top super middleweight Canelo.
Are you guys crazy?
While I agree with your take on Crawford/Canelo, I have to respectfully disagree about Bivol and Canelo. Bivol won that fight because he is just better. Bivol isn't some huge 175 pounder. Bivol even wanted to run it back at 168, but Canelo didn't want that work.
a prime bhop couldnt do sh%t to ggg. now he'd probably just die tbh.
Do you really believe a prime Hopkins couldn't compete with GGG? You can't be serious...
As much as Tank is wrong in the situation in general, he does have a point with the living situation. He's a famous multimillionaire in a city full of a lot of desperate people. He needs to have a security team.
