It's definitely a market worth checking,i'd be down for the podcast. If you're being serious then drop me a PM,i'd contribute for sure.
My PMs are for some reason not working. If you can, PM me your Skype so that we can speak on there.
I've been playing around with this idea myself for the last 6 months & have a rough draft of some formats & segments I'd like to do. I definitely think quality boxing podcasts are an under served marketplace these days as a podcast nerd. Feel free to PM me your concept(s) & maybe we can discuss it further & if nothing else I could be some sort of contributer or regular caller to your podcast or something along those lines.

After watching how Liam Smith worked out Brook I couldn't help wondering why the GGG - BROOK was even made. Brook is slow, has a double chin and will just be a punch bag. He can not get out of any shots this will not be good to watch.
Question is why such a fight would have been allowed to go ahead?
When you say allowed, do you mean legally?
I think it is clear why the fight was made. Kell Brook can't get any big fights at Welterweight (for whatever reasons) and Golovkin can't get any big fights at Middleweight (because all are running scared). GGG's team were in talks with Team Eubank, and after that fell through, Eddie looked for a quick replacement in Kell.
I feel like you already know this, and just want to express your hate for GGG and this fight.
Far from it. Actually I think GGG is a genuinely nice guy and he is definitely good at what he does. I also think his team protected him from some good middleweight because he is not a spring chicken yet he has fought no one. Yes fighting Brook is a new low but seriously I think fighters should be protected.
In that case, many legends would be prevented from becoming legends man.
I said brook would give GGG a few problems before the fight and I got called stupid, a moron, a 12 year old, a GGG nuthugger and an intern for matchroom sport
You predicted right. I HONESTLY thought it was going to be a complete blowout, Brook hitting the canvas within 3. He showed amazing heart.
... Nice vid! :)
... but play it on "mute"...
... But wait!... isn't this the very round in which GGG just broke Brook's eye socket?... with a long jab or loose left hook? :)
Hold on bro... no one is saying that Kell Brook gave him an arse whopping. All I said was that he put up a good fight... relax brother.
Brook was backing GGG up and giving him a beating...
The thing I liked most from Brook was his punch selection. At times, GGG just had to absorb combinations.
Only Al Hayman can I.E the PBC title, like UFC and he does with the help of the WBC.
The only way too get the one title is to pick 1 and publicly denigrate the others....easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Agreed. Let's see (if we don't die before the transition).
Not possible. Only way I can see that working is if their are still interim belts. All four will interim champs, and the interim champs face off in a tournament. The winner of that tournament is the WORLD CHAMPION. So say Joe Schmoe s the IBF interim champ who beat the WBC Champ. He meets Seymour Butts, the WBA champ who beat the WBO champ.
Joe Schmoe vs. Seymour Butts for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.
Now, all those other belts are vacated. Until another tournament is placed. Now if that same winner (Joe or Seymour) is still champ. then the same thing happens.
That's a lengthy format, because a tournament would be needed for every world championship fight. But I like the thinking!
A hostile takeover via PBC in the next 5 years or so or a future PBC-like entity (AIBA comes to mind as they seem to have a lean towards a hostile takeover themselves). Either that entity takes over & eventually devalues the alphabet groups or the alphabet groups team up when the threat of that type of entity makes them realize their own existence is being threaten kinda like the theory goes with if aliens attacked the earth all the nations of the earth would work together for a common clause against the aliens.
This is exactly what I thought, PBC could create it's own championship titles down the line, assuming it becomes large enough. It would then essentially become boxing's 'UFC'. But that would require some hefty funding, and rumor has it that PBC is already burning through cash like Tyson.
Yes he should.
Canelo too actually. I remember him cowering on the ropes at one point in the Floyd fight. A man who weighs over 170 in the ring cowering from a guy who started at a Super Featherweight. It was pathetic to watch.
Lets kick Floyd out of boxing actually. He got pull countered by Maidana and rocked. Who the hell gets done with a pull counter off Maidana?
Anybody who takes a shot should retire actually.
LOL. Boxing shouldn't be a legal sport actually. Who the hell gets hit?
I LOVE boxing film studies and 90% of my interest in the sport is studying technique. Robinson has some great insights. Many of his theories have holes in them but, I'll be honest and admit you could say that about anyone who makes predictions. No one is right all the time.
True. But the guy's analysis and knowledge of fighting technique is great. Probably the best on YouTube at the moment.
Do you know what happened to Wilson?
Brook (a non-middleweight) appeared to have suffered a broken cheek / eye socket after just 4 rounds. He said he saw 4 Golovkin's in the ring. His trainer, who has known Brook since he was a kid, had every right to protect his fighter from severe and unnecessary damage.
WHo would youbet on if I gave you 100 dollars and your life depended on it.
I think Saunders UD's the SHiiiet out of him
I think Canelo wins in a close fight. I see it going similarly to Canelo vs Cotto. BJS wins some early rounds and Canelo takes over in the later rounds.
Saunders is quite good at evading shots and has a decent chin. He is definitely capable of going the full distance.
If Ingles let that carry on and Brook carried on say a couple more rounds you might be looking at a fighter who likely might not ever fight again I think you'd probably agree with that.
Well I don't agree with Brooks making 147lbs he can make it but he shouldn't make it he's far too big for that.
Exactly. And that was why it was stopped.
For the first time in Golovkins career, he has to go through strenuous drug testing...now his faces looks sunk in and his neck looks skinny. Is that because of the drug testing?
Did he decide to come clean because he's fighting a welterweight?
Come on dude, it's probably due to the traveling. Let's not clutch at ridiculous ways to discredit a fighter.
In all his previous fights or at least the ones from recent memory, GGG would always have this snap when he delivered a big power punch. He'd get into into position, plant his feet, and deliver a snapping cross with thunderous power. You could feel it from the other side of the tv screen. But here tonight in the Brook fight, his punches seemed relatively "lighter", like he wasn't generating all the torque that he is able to. Just bum rushing Brook and throwing with abandon... which was enough, but still.
I think it seems that way because most of GGG's opponents have given him quite a stationary target once he cuts off the ring. I.e. a lack of head/upper body movement.
Brook was sliding and riding a lot of the shots on the ropes, giving the impression that GGG's punches were less crisp, compared to when he lands cleanly. That being said, it looks like Brook's got some broken parts of his face now. Golovkin's body work was real sharp and crisp too.
Both suffer from being very stocky and struggle against rangy fighters who use the jab and straight right.
This would be a WAR, I think Prov is a bit past it but with a long layoff I think he could get his hunger back. This figt sells as well, both guys are complete cavemen
Make this fight!!!
I think the styles make a great fight, not sure it sells well though. Neither have large fan-bases, and have recently had set-backing losses.
I'd like to see it though!
If I weigh 160lbs and fight a 160lber no matter how small I am I am regarded as a middleweight also after Kell Brook likely rehydrated from the weighin he was probably at 170lbs maybe a bit more he was either equal in weight or heavier than GGG.
Dunno how you work things out but that is equal in weight and both made the middleweight limit on the weigh in.
When I say he is not a middleweight, I mean it in the sense that his ideal weight is not 160 lbs. Brook can make 147 lbs, Golovkin cannot. That makes it quite evident that Brook is naturally smaller and not a true Middleweight. Both Brook and GGG himself agree on that.
Golovkin is a SOLID middleweight, it is clear that Brook isn't. As said before, the decision from the corner was correct. Fighter's safety is first. Not fans' enjoyment.
After four rounds Kell had a broken eye socket and say 4 Golovkin's in the ring. Now a question, how severe do you think Kell's injuries would have been if I carried on?
boxing fans really need to quit listening to the anti pbc propaganda usually spread by writers who are under the gbp payroll in some fashion. these pbc cards have some most entertaining fights almost every single card and yet people for some odd reason dont just take it all in. i mean seriously pbc cards have fight of the year candidate type fights on almost every single card people need to start appreciating it
Agreed. Either watch, and enjoy the fights or not tune it. There is no need to hate on PBC, the fights are free. No money is being wasted, like perhaps on a poor PPV card.
