I'm happy if someone just takes an interest in boxing - however little they know. English boxing's gone through a bit of a lull though recently. Sky will be the only channel broadcasting fights here soon, and you've got champs like Froch walking round their own home towns hardly getting recognised. Loved it during the Haye/Valuev build-up - when people actually wanted to speak to me about boxing! I'm currently trying to get my girlfriend into boxing too, even if at the moment it only goes as far as 'Ooh, that Kessler's got nice tattoos!"

Gotta agree with a few of the other posters What exactly does Haye get out of fighting B-Hop? OK, It'll earn him a coupla quid and a bit of American exposure - but career-wise it's a crazy move. After the Valuev fight, Haye'll want to put on an entertaining performance for his next fight. Hopkins won't provide that. If he wins, he's beaten a 45 year old middleweight/light-heavy - well, no sh*t! If he loses, he's lost to a 45 year old middleweight/light-heavy - sh*t! He can't win - Haye seems fairly shrewd, It'll never happen. Not sure about all this talk of Hopkins being shot though. On what evidence? His last fight? Still looks pretty handy to me.

RE The news article: Fury didn't relieve Darren McDermott of the title - It was John McDermott. That only way Fury could make that weight would be to chop off his legs and perhaps deflate his massive ego.
