The only real separator between Fury and Dubois resumes is 39 year old Klitschko.
And to be honest I expect a rampaging Dubois stops a panicked Klitschko in similar fashion to how he stopped AJ.
In actual fact who did Klitschko beat even in his prime who was decisively better than Dubois?
People always want to trash this era but they are very quick to forget.
Surely nobody intimates Wlad's reign was superior?
Who was better than Dubois is a question for the real heavyweight nerds I reckon - not me but I'd like to hear from others.
If forced I think a prime Povetkin over Dubois i'd be tempted to pick or David Haye if he landed early. Struggling outside of that.
A lot of those people Wlad beat, unless you were a real die hard fan of heavies I dunno how you could form a strong opinion on them. Pulev, Thompson and Peter off the top of my head I had at least seen fight more than once other than Wlad. Mormeck I will have seen the Haye fight.
No idea if Chagaev, Ibragimov, or Brewster et al. were any good.
Certainly not gonna review their fights now, lol.
You know that the autistic spectrum is wide. Often it affects the intelligence, behaviour, reaction, understanding... shortly said. It's not necessary to be a disease, and some diseases can't stop one from being a boxer ("disease" is an even broader term). But until proven otherwise, Dubois doesn't have autism.
Agreed.
However, Autism as a term purely regards issues surrounding sensory processing, communication, and social interaction.
What is linked is whether they may have a learning disability: mild, moderate, or severe.
Or yanks have levels I think.
Aspergers before they found out he was a na.zi was the catch all for an autistic person with no learning disability. Probably with some intellectual advantages like monotropism, rote memory or whatever terms they use for the Autistic savant now.
There is a higher likelihood of some physical issues in people with autism than the gen pop. Hypermobility, sometimes co-ordination, fine motor skills.
And then linked stuff like burnout after stress which to my experience (kid) and their peers is indicative to all autistic people from a kid to an old dude.
I wouldn't diagnose and it is wrong when people try and do that. But at the same time I do look and listen to him and see similarities to kids and adults I know. The en vogue title nowadays would be neurosp.icy or atypical. He's a spi.cy lad, imo.
I don't agree with adults getting autism diagnosis anyway - those with no or maybe a mild LD and no physical issues. If you've got this far and you're coping (masking) - you've figures out coping mechanisms. A diagnosis at an adult age I feel just allows adults to lean into the inflexible parts of themselves, isolate themselves, potential to damage relationships. Many people would very strongly diagree me on this view which I can understand, too.
Daniel is doing an incredible job. Incredible.
Kid is killing it.
I also think he proved himself to be an elite fighter and definitely has a great resume so far.
Him having a syndrome? No, this is very likely to stop him from obtaining a boxing license. I think he is a bit timid and a bit stuрid.
Why would autism affect anyone getting a licence? It's not a disease.
That was more of Morrell just really underperforming than Chelli winning.
No.
Why are some boxing fans like this?
Just give a man some credit who on paper took a really dangerous fight for him underprepared.
Zak Chelli is an actual school teacher who took the fight on a few weeks notice.
It speaks to Chelli's professionalism, toughness, resilience, self-belief and yes talent.
So yeah give the man his pay day. Nobody should put an asterisk against this. It's disrespectful. This is boxing and this why 2 men climb into the ring not just 1.
Yea Dubois would prob beat most of the heavies now. Which is exactly my point, being that this is one of the weaker eras of heavyweight boxing. Being entertaining and highly skilled are 2 completely different things.
*btw AJ was pretty much shot when they fought. don't kid yourself.
I'd disagree with you if you think Dubois is unskilled. He's a big strong boy yes but he has very good feet, a world class jab and he's always in a position to throw a shot which is gonna be heavy because his balance is so good.
He's good man. He is good at boxing, lol.
Don't get me wrong, this fight was highly entertaining.
But your post says Usyk X Dubois 3
Dubois with that sluggin no defense style has very little chance vs Usyk.
Wardley was like a big punching bag with heart. Neither of these guys have the skills to compete at an elite level.
And hardly anyone wants to see Usyk Dubois 3.
I mean I suppose by defintion they are at an elite level. Dubois especially.
He is good. He has a good jab and good feet. No defence is also inaccurate. His balance when punching is pretty perfect. Usyk is superlative and Dubois as has been said by everyone suffers confidence issues when he doesn't find success.
Anyone not named Usyk he's gonna be competitive or beat a lot of these other heavies until new blood emerges.
He's beaten AJ, Miller, Hrgovic and now Wardley.
Would he beat Parker? I think so. Would he beat Zhang? Wilder? Okolie? Gassiev? AJ again? I think so. Would he beat Kabayel? I dunno. An old Fury? I dunno.
Would he beat Moses? I don't think so but even that's based on the eye test and a belief Dubois will freeze up and panic with the speed and be erratic
Carefully matched he could have a decent reign. He wont though because he's not an especially popular, engaging or charasmatic man.
A hard sell.
Daniel is a good boxer now 2x world titlist but he simply isn't good enough to trouble the wonderful Usyk.
He becomes demoralised quickly as has been said if he doesn't land solidly. It felt like he responded to every Usyk feint last time. Tired, confused, f.ucked.
No thanks.
What does Wardley pay Ben Davidson and the rest of them for exactly?
I felt the Doc could have stopped it as well.
I never get those reviews. Yeah you can look at cuts and damage, you could even use neuro obs. So he could pass on those unless he was giving confused responses.
But...surely you can just take into consideration the momentum of the fight and the fact that he has certainly sustained a concussion and he was dog tired and his feet weren't doing what he want for quite a long time in that fight.
Fans never like that. But you stop that on the first look.
Wouldn't want that doc looking after me.
I want to pick Dubois, I think he has the skillset to make it pretty easy actually but his lack of balls and Wardley having gigantic ones is giving me major doubt.
Same.
I feel Dubois wins this. Or rather I think he should.
I mean, who hits harder and has the better fundamentals?
It's Dubois. Wardley is powerful and unorthodox but I don't think its the same.
Dubois' perceived heart of lack thereof is only an issue once he gets tired, beffudled and starts taking damage.
It's not like he can't hold a decent shot.
I feel like Dubois wins this. It's hard to see him not having success early which will give him confidence.
