I heard they were blacklisted after doing several hate pieces on Keenan. Never a smart move to make enemies with the guy in charge of credentials. Our site is pretty close with Keenan and Golden Boy so no worries here.
#1. The blacklisted site has not done "several hate pieces on Keenan." The fact that the site's credentials were threatened if they did round by round of BHop v RJJ was simply being discussed on the forum. No "hate pieces on Keenan" were published by the site to my knowledge.
#2. Very interesting that this "site is pretty close with Keenan and Golden Boy" and you no longer do round by rounds.
#3. If this Keenan punk can blacklist independent forums at his descretion, what is there to stop him from demanding that this site ban all negative threads about his punkness and GBP?
Take the time to read and actually figure out the situation.
You should take your own advice.
what was the point when half a dozen people were doing them in the forums.:pat:
Convenient rationalization.
Obviously an attempt to bring FightHype to heel. I hope they will continue to refuse the leash.
Independent forums and boxing fans need to stand up to this BS.
But the problem is that sites, bloggers, and The Examiner favor certain camps so they can be assured of credentials. And the media buffet
That is my whole point.
Independent boxing sites should not have to favor certain fighters and promoters to "be assured of credentials". The site that has been blacklisted has some of the best content on boxing. If boxing fans and independent sites do not stand up against behavior like Ed Keenan's, sites will no longer be able to publish objective journalism and boxing fans will be subjected to only the information that promoters deem positive for their (and their fighters') image.
Independent boxing forums will no longer be independent. Boxing fans will be reduced to propaganda tools.
We the boxing fans need to demand independent information and we need to punish those who would attempt to curtail our access to that information.
Fighthype is a great site, I go there everyday reading boxing, their forums are nice too, not much traffic though, maybe if people like me man up and join it will be a little different. I am just used to posting here and I hate small communities like maxboxing forums where everybody there knows each other and when new people come in they are pretty much chased out, that's why they don't have any new members, they make them quit the forum. Fighthype's forum might be like that or I may be completely wrong, I just don't like small communities where every second person is a moderator.
But other than that, I cannot not visit fighthype because their content is amazing. Even the Murad series was amazing.
I don't know why fighthype would get banned for fights, they provide as much content as boxingscene if not even more and they have a nice niche with the interviews and everything.
Sometimes it is worth fighting through the initial barrage of criticism you face on smaller sites. IMO, that is the case with FightHype.
But the point here is that independent forums should not be discriminated against for their content. They should be judged on their efforts to inform the boxing public on all sides of the issues. Individuals like Mr. Keenan should not be given the power to summarily dismiss independent forums like a dog pisses on fire hydrants.
Sweet tail, by the way.
Boxing fans need to demand good information. We need to demand decent fights. We need to demand that PPVs have decent value.
Golden Boy should be held to account for farces like BHop v RJJ. That should have been on cable or something.
Unless they get punks like Ed Keenan under control, and stop blacklisting independent boxing forums, Golden Boy Promotions will continue their decline.
It would also help if they stopped insulting the boxing community with farces like BHop v RJJ.
where does it talk about round-by-round updates??
The link you are referencing is not the subject of this thread. This was a direct threat to an individual site's operators. I am unsure of how many may have received this threat. I assume if one received it than more probably did.
they are talking about streaming not round-by-round updates.
they did that for all the big fights, especially the very big fights like mayweather or pacquiao, etc., streams get shut down constantly and sometimes its a real pain
No, that is not what they were talking about in this case. They were threatening individuals running sites if they did round by round updates.
I am not speaking of streaming. That is normal.
I think it is a symptom of something deeper. I believe they are attempting to intimidate independent sites from being critical on any level. This is a threat to free thought on the web through limiting access to crucial content.
i have never heard this before, do you have a link
I am not posting a link because it was a direct threat to a competing forum. I am not here to promote other forums.
I will say that the forum had published multiple pieces critical of the RJJ v BHop event. The operators of the site were threatened with refusal of future fight credentials.
While I have to admit that the Klit Sisters probably do not get the respect they deserve, Wlad the GOAT?
You are being sarcastic, right?
For one of the Sisters to be in consideration for GOAT they would have to fight each other. That aint happenin'.
wouldn't doubt it after how desperate they came across when they published an official statment regarding the ppv event.
Please note that the pay-per-view telecast will be aggressively monitored on the internet and any piracy and/or infringements will be legally dealt with in a swift and immediate manner.
It is normal for streaming to be forbidden. As far as I know it is unprecedented for sites to be threatened for allowing round by round updates.
GBP crossed the line and needs to hear about it.
The fact that SSM is even a rated Welter is pathetic. He is all of 8-6-1 in the last 9 years (2-2-1 in the last 3).
This is why boxing is in trouble, along with the fact that the Heavies are a collection of fat mfers ruled by a Siamese Klit.
I had it the other way around. But after watching it the second time, probably not the robbery that I felt it was yesterday.
I was already pissed after Palacios got homered.
