I fully understand and agree that the stoppage was a bad look for boxing. That said, the way Turki Al-Sheikh approached the topic in the ring post fight leaves to be desired. It's all perception and some things may have been lost in translation, but if I was Usyk.. I would've handed the ring belt to the guy and walked. (Usyk may have some contractual obligations so it's never that simple) With regards to Kabayel's promotor in the ring etc, unless you're invited in the ring by Usyk, don't step up to the man. This applies to any and all fighters. Do your work on the promotional side before the fight and don't whine if you played it safe for years and failed to build a brand for your fighter. The Chisora fight was like 8 years ago (a mediocre boxer IMHO) and followed by 3 years of what?! Then there was Makhmudov which was a step up since he was also undefeated. After that it was 1 fight per year vs. Sanchez and Zhang. Good fights, but you can't be on load management like you're about to retire and make demands. Even the version Usyk who fought on Saturday beats Kabayel, my opinion. The champ can walk whenever he wants now.. You don't get to where he is by worrying about what others have to say, that stuff is just background noise. I'm just annoyed today lol.

I was asking myself that same question. The glaring inconsistency of Foster's actions in 2 HW title fights, less than 6 months apart, both featuring Fabio Wardley, leaves a very bad taste and I'm astonished it wasn't mentioned in this article. Once I saw Wardley stumble sideways barely able to stand and the round hadn't even started, I had to laugh. This is an other 'follow the money at your own risk'.. To make it that obvious speaks volumes, the powers that be aren't even worried about getting caught.

Fabio is warrior and this is the type of statement you expect from a boxer. That said, he needs to look at warriors like Thomas Hearns. That legend is at least 25 years younger than Bob Arum and in worse shape. Even 10 years ago Hearns was in worse shape than Arum at 90+. Keep the career short and invest your money wisely. You've invested to much to make the same mistakes boxers made 35 years ago.

A rematch would be nice, but after reading some of Nakatani's post fight comments. Holding stuff back during the first half of the fight was a very bad strategy given Inoue's age and fighting style. Plus, admiring your opponent's technical abilities during that time is not the mindset I'd expect from someone coming to win. That said, something may have been lost in translation.. Hate saying this because RJ is one of my favorite fighters of all time but, Junto should have copied Tarver.

Like Usyk, Inoue will now work on his roadmap to retirement and will be very strategic selecting opponents. He's talked about getting a title at 126, but recently said he was open to fighting Bam. Not taking anything away from Inoue, but I think Figueroa at 126 is more appealing to him now (after the Nakatani fight). I think Inoue felt the years in this last fight..

If AJ had the timing and footwork that Vitally had, he would never have been targeted by the Paul guy. Add AJ's questionable mental fortitude and you have a perfect target for anyone looking to make some quick money. I sympathize with what he went through, but he's asking for it. I truly hope Usyk managed to help him improve, but I expect this to look like Dubois' last fight vs Usyk. AJ could have made as much fighting Wilder followed by the Big Bang in China and he would've finished his career on a positive note. Bottom line, I see this and the Fury fight as WWE sports entertainment. I stopped watching that stuff when I was 12!

Can't talk his way out of this mess. He's a professional athlete. Whomever was treating him would know this and adjusted treatment accordingly. If amateur athletes (kids) can manage this, he should've been able to do the same. Teenagers have been doing it for decades and work with their family doctors to avoid certain any basic medications that could lead to adverse findings. I didn't even take painkillers as a low level amateur with no chance of being a pro anything.

Not sure what's wrong with Andy, but he basically threw away millions. All he had to do was train and show up fight night. He was more skilled than most guys in the top 10 and guys like Torres are ranked higher than Ruiz and way closer to a significant payday than Andy.
